Trying to find this place was not the easiest but we finally found it on the bottom level.
Large room decent atmosphere, a lot moving parts. Had a smoking and non smoking areas to sit which was nice.
There were some surprises on the menu of which was preparation was different from the norm. However, it still was a good appetizer.
Several problems arose with my entree. I read the ribeye was very good. I ordered the The Ribeye A La Tabla and ordered it medium well tonight instead of medium. The waiter read back the order and stated medium rare. I corrected him and said no the other way please cook it medium well. He scribbled on his pad and said no problem.
My wife , daughter and son in-law's meals came out and shortly after so did mine. The cut it in half and placed it on a wooden board. It was rare with a slight outer sear. Finally catch someone's attention and they take it back. 10 minutes later the waiter is back. He cuts it in half looks up and says it's medium well and takes it back to the kitchen. Now my family finishes their meals while I'm still waiting for mine. More time goes by and a busser comes by and picks up my families empty plates and my unused fork and steak knife. A few more minutes tick by and the waiter returns and I tell him to stop and take it away and just bring the check. He walks up to the floor supervisor and she talks sternly to the waiter and storms off. Minutes tick by and ask older gentleman in a suit walks over and asks me "how my meal was"😱 to which I responded are you seriously asking me that. I explained what I just wrote and he want to gets us dessert. I told him no I just want to leave. Then how about some cocktails. He then said he would take steak off the bill. The disrespect was just exponentially compounding the situation. 2 minutes pass by and a different waiter comes by to place dessert plates down and I stopped him and just asked for the check once again. Next up another suit walks up in tandem with another to place the check on the table. This one says that he heard there was a problem here. I asked if he was joking and that I just want to pay and leave. He takes my credit card and asks if he should just close it out or if I might be giving a tip, if not he understood.
If you are going to charge as much as they do you, you better have the food prep and service to match.
Very disappointing experience, will never set foot in there againg. Not getting the the order right is one thing but disrespecting the customer is another and doesn't deserve...
Read moreHorrible customer service, waiter was terrible and the food was average at best. Once we arrived we waited for about an hour to be seated. We weren’t allowed to wait at the bar. We had to stay in a small entry way by the hostess stand. When we finally got seated be prepared for the cigarette smoke. It was heavy. So if your a non smoker this could be a problem. We then asked for a drink menu and the waitress (there were 2) seemed upset that we didn’t know what drinks they routinely serve there and was irritated that she had to retrieve a menu for us. We ordered, as an appetizer, the meat you cook on a volcanic rock. Sounds cool, however, the rock is round and it was difficult to keep the thin slices of meat on the rock. Blood from the meat was also dripping on the table. My ribeye was tough and absolutely swimming in a teriyaki sauce. There should be no need to soak a ribeye in sauce. The flavor was simply ok. The chicken with asparagus was cold and the plate was too small for the chicken. The asparagus kept touching the dirty table. That right the one with the bloody juice from the appetizer. The price for a ribeye, chicken dinner and 2 drinks was approximately $80 U.S. and they make sure to include the tip! So if your service was poor they get the good tip anyway. There are so many different great restaurants available in this area I would steer clear of this one. It’s trying way too hard and...
Read moreTake my word for this comment, this place attempts to provide a fancy service that for the average person will make you feel uncomfortable, the worst part is that the food does not remotely rise up to the ocacion of the service, and the prices they charge after you realize the dinner you had will frustrate you and make you feel you got ripped off all because you where dinning in the most exclusive area of the city, this place is for total snobs that value their dinning status rather than their dinning experience...if you are used to having full dinning experience like appetizers, cocktails, entrees, desert, expect to pay over $100 u.s dollars per person the food is nowhere near a 1st world countries equivalent diner that you would have for half the price.. very dissapointed on how thirsty this exclusive area is to make it feel like a 1st world country but fails to deliver in every possible way, save your money and gead up to chapultepec col. Americana they have better options for half the price and the vibe over there is true to the city.. you will get a better experience from...
