This place is a hidden gem in Yelapa! Can be hard to find: you have to go through an alley besides the laundromat.
The restaurant is extremely clean and well kept. You can see the kitchen from the dining area and you can even watch the cute lady making homemade blue corn tortillas!
The food here is amazing!
We shared the deep fried goat cheese salad. It was so fresh and tasty. So many flavors paired well together. I absolutely love deep fried balls of goat cheese.
Grilled shrimp taco was my favorite item on the menu. The seafood in Yelapa is so fresh. The tacos come with a tray of four separate condiments. I liked the chipotle mayo looking one and creamy green one because they weren't too spicy for me.
I also had the octopus and shrimp pastor. Both good but grilled shrimp is the way to go!
My boyfriend has the beef quesadilla. The cheese they use is delicious and the beef was tender and juicy.
For drinks we had the pina colada (so creamy), caddilac margarita (bf loved it), mango margarita (they use fresh mangos), and tamarind margarita (something unique to try if you like sweet salty and spicy).
I highly recommend coming here right when it opens at 5pm as it...
Read moreThe Chef in this restaurant is a Mexican fellow with the most amazing talent for creating unique flavours. For a remote location our Fillet mignon was the best I'd had anywhere in the world. The house itself is 100 years old. I noticed that in this listing it is called a taco restaurant and while they do do tacos this is a fine dining restaurant with an amazing selection of dishes, wines, spirits and beer. The open air atmosphere is relaxing and quaint with beautiful plants everywhere. We went for supper 3 days in a row and every day we had something unique and delicious. We've eaten in many many places but this place filled not only our bellies but our hearts and souls. I hear it fills up fast in high season and actually has a long lineup at times. It's low season now and the perfect time to go with very few people. I am a particularly fussy person to please but I honestly cannot find one negative thing to say. Oh and the portions were huge and the price very reasonable. Fabian Huerta is the chef and thrives on pleasing his guests. A truly wonderful experience and given by attentive and caring staff. Much Gusto amigos. Mucho gracias. We will return...
Read moreThis should be the first stop on your restaurant tour in the quaint town of Yelapa. I would go so far as to say this is the best food I have ever had in my travels, and I am a globe traveling foodie with a penchant for quality. The portions are large, so I suggest a progressive meal. The food flavors will dance on the many areas of your tongue and will continue to do so well after you’ve eaten. The Tamarind Margarita with Tajine was a brilliant combination of sweet, salty, and spicy.
Everything is exceptional, not one item was “good”. This is a five star venue in any city. The staff are like family and they put just as much love and attention into the service as they do the food. You will adore it. I challenge a professional food critic to venture to the island for a few days, stay at Casa Isabelle and immerse themself in its rustic and authentic beauty (if you can handle a little less luxury and truly get back to our human connections with nature and food) and come do a full review. If you can step out of your Prada’s and into the real Mexico. Who’s...
