This was my first time visiting Bites. Upon arrival I sat at a table by myself waiting to meet a group. While waiting I kindly put in a order for 2 drinks and some food. I then moved to the table I was invited too. While at that particular table I told the waitress serving that I would be sitting at the other table with the group she said ok that's fine. When they finally decided to give my drink after 30 minutes, they put it at the first table while no one was there. I didn't notice until someone from the group pointed it out. No problem I grabbed it and sat back down with the group. After about an hour the waiter finally taps me on my shoulder asking me if I'm still hungry, I said yes. So she says she will bring the food now. When she decided to bring it she still delivers it to the other table that im not sitting at. One girl from the group decided to order rounds of shots, no problem I put an order in for a shot of tequila, while others ordered whiskey and different liquors. The same waiter brings all the shots, but has one shot of tequila left. I kindly told her it was mine, she insisted it wasn't and wouldn't give it to me. Other people from the table were telling her it was mines, she said no it wasn't. So she decides to go to the kitchen and then comes back out saying it was mines, at this point I told her to keep the drink never mind I don't want it. Over all this experience was different, I never had a waiter deny me my things I ordered. I understand mistakes happen, but if your customers are telling you something, you should listen and not argue with them, very unpleasant indeed. Maybe it would be different next time, but that was a...
Read moreABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! My Mom and I planned to visit this restaurant when I come and it hadn't rained once since we were in Merida for 2 months, and it began to downpour literally 5 minutes before we arrived in the car. Not only did he still open in a torrential downpour, but Shuler was so gracious to us!! He greeted us with a big smile and thankfully we were able to keep dry under the awning. He even got my mom a couple of towels that she could put around her neck, because she was cold from the wind. And the food was exceptional. We had the jerk chicken gyro, the jerk chicken plate, and the beef patties. You have to order the beef patties. I don't care if they come and pack the 12, you have to order them. We ate two there, took the rest home and they were gone in 2 days. The only Caribbean restaurant in Merida, and you don't really need another option cuz this is the place you want to go. The owner is awesome, place is fun, great music, excellent service. I will go again and again and again whenever in Merida! Thank you Shuler for your excellent...
Read moreVisiting Merida from CDMX and have been wanting to eat at this spot since the owner advertised on FB groups. Called this afternoon to ask if they'd be open this evening (according to the times given on Google) and no answer but decided to try anyway.
This restaurant is not conveniently located and took us a while to get here - only to arrive and for the restaurant to be closed 🤦🏽♀️ Then called again and the owner answered saying he has friends visiting, hence why they're closed?? Utterly ridiculous.
Also, if you aren't coming with your own car, be aware of the fact that trying to get an Uber back to Centro from where Bites is located is...
