BACAL — Restaurant in Mexico City

There are many cool wine bars in Mexico City, but Bacal is definitely my favorite in terms of quality and consistency!

The food is lit with plenty of gluten free options 🔥 they feature different chef residency on a weekly (?) basis so definitely follow them on IG to see what collaboration is coming up.

On non-residency days food is served buffet style.

Everyone is friendly and sweet here 💕 the owner is warm & attentive, and even remembers details from our first meeting, which makes the experience really welcoming 🤗

We stumbled upon this place looking for a morning Coffee and the owner Eric greeted us and gave us so much advice on places to eat and things to see on our first trip to CDMX. He was so kind we returned the next day to try his all you can eat brunch and WOW! Beautiful live music, the food was incredible, everything was fresh and balanced. My friend and I had high expectations after reading the reviews, however when we went here on a Wednesday for some cocktails and a bite to eat we were very disappointed. The staff was very uninterested and slow even though there were literally only two other customers. There was almost no food and what was there wasn’t very tasty. The cocktails were great but when we asked for another round they for some reason didn’t make them at all and when we came to pay the bill (after a long wait) they did want to charge us....
