After food tasting in Hong Kong and Boston, I came back to Mexico City where the constant smell of taqueria and street vendors roam the city. Accompanied by my local host, we came to try one of the most popular taco restaurants in the city, where the we waited about 30 minutes on a Sunday afternoon. The first thing to notice is it’s yellow and orange decor which gives off a vibrant atmosphere. The restaurant’s name is Frog in a little pond, which from the outside you can see two frog statues, and there are a few more stores in the city. I asked my host to take the liberty to order whatever they think I should try and boy, was that a good decision. The tacos coming minutes after ordering and I couldn’t finish my taco in my hands to see plate after plate being served. Most of them I do no recall the names, but my best advise is to show them the pictures and tell them thats what you want to try. Best of all, order a fresh man cup of Horchada to go with your tacos, that’s authentic Mexican cuisine. Es un bonito lugar muy colorido y con buena limpieza. Nos atendió un mesero llamado Antonio, debo decir que fue un servicio terrible, desde que llegamos nos presionó para ordenar, nos ignoraba para atender a la mesa que se encontraba a un lado de la nuestra, se notaba que eran clientes frecuentes, incluso tardo más de media hora para traer un juego de naranja y me lo entrego de mala manera, un asco de servicio. La comida no fue tan gratificante, pedí un paquete especial mexicano de $241, de lo cuál incluía unos chilaquiles en salsa de frijol, que pedí sin cebolla porque me hace daño, lo cuál me entregaron con 4 rodajas grandes de está, y 2 pedazos de pollo del tamaño de aproximadamente una pulgada, un café tan amargo que tristemente tuve que dejar a la mitad; los sopes y las quesadillas tenían buen sabor, lamentablemente no tuve la oportunidad de probar los frijoles refritos, pues el mesero nunca me los entrego, a pesar de repetirle que venían en mi orden. Y deberían poner algún tipo de sanción con el gasto excesivo de papel, ya que cada mesa cuenta con menú de papel que se deberá de llenar con pluma. En resumen, es mucho mejor salir a comer al mercado que está a unas cuadras del local.

El taco de pastor está bien servido pero no vale lo que cuesta. El alambre de pastor sabe a todo menos a pastor. Bistec, flautas y sope nada especial. Salsas muy buenas. Se puede comer mejor y por menos en muchos otros lugares. Edit: bajo a 2 estrellas porque me cayó super mal la comida.

If i can go everyday it will be amazing. This are the best of the best Tacos in Mexico city. Everything is good there . Great quality very clean . The waiter are friendly. The best are the tacos de carne asada and the tacos al pastor. Try their cebollitas preparada and el chicharon de queso. They have fresh water and all kind of cervesas. The price is not the cheapest like a taco is 2 dlls wich is not much but if you go to other places you can get 1 taco for 1 dlls. Love this place ....

I would totally recommend this place if what you're looking for is traditional and good quality tacos. Meat is just amazing here as well as tortillas, which are hand made. You'll find in the menu a variety of options, from quesadillas to sopes. I would recommend asking for a queso fundido and a alambre. Also, did I already said that cheese is awesome here?
