I really enjoyed dining here. The place has the feel of a canteen, with food being prepared fresh, in large batches, served almost immediately with a friendly, bustling and busy vibe. If you look inside the open kitchen, you can see the line process at its most efficient. I started with the chicken soup which was light and flavourful without being too overpowering. It had just the right amount of shredded chicken and crisp tortilla strips in it as well. Next I had the pokchuc tacos, prepared in a typical Yucatan style, they are a simple bit delicious taco, relying on the flavor of the meat to do ask the heavy lifting. After a few bites as a variation, I added some agua chile to it to spice things up. Next I had the cochinita pibil in roja, which was delicious. Small little cylinders stuffed with roasted pig and covered in a delicious red sauce. I'd definitely order two next time. Papadzul was next on the menu, and I'm so glad I tried it. Similar to the pibil, but stuffed with chopped boiled eggs and covered in a sauce that tasted of corn, wheat and earth. It was very different from anything I've had before and a nice, light and welcome change. Marquesita! This was an interesting variation of a pastry. The outer crust is very, very flaky and dry, and tastes a bit like the wafers from a sugar wafer, but unsweetened. Inside was a contrasting mix of cheese and dulce de leche or cajeta. Not exactly a favorite but I'm glad I tried it. In short, is definitely go back, just to try more of their menu. It's rare to find a restaurant that has a menu wherein almost every single dish...

Fonda 99.99 is pure magic—quality guaranteed! I've been coming here for over a decade, and it never disappoints. The prices are unbelievably good, and the food consistently exceeds expectations. Combine that with amazing service, and you’ve got one of the best dining experiences in the city.

My most recent visit was on a Tuesday, and for the first time, the place was all ours—no crowds, just us soaking up the cozy vibes. As always, the food was incredible, and we even enjoyed a delightful digestivo to wrap up the meal. The service? Top-notch, as always.

That said, there are a couple of things to note: it’s usually very busy, and they don’t take reservations, so plan accordingly. Also, only cash is accepted. And the only real downside? The toilets—they’re tiny!

But honestly, these minor inconveniences are a small price to pay for such an outstanding culinary experience. Fonda 99.99 is an absolute gem. Highly...

If you're a fan of traditional Yucatan cousin, you can't miss this place. Together with Humberto's it's one of the best places in town in terms of flavors of the food and its price. Services is good too. However, you have to be comfortable with a potentially long wait. I arrived shortly before 2pm on a Sunday and had to wait a solid 30 min for a table.

The menu is not huge, yet it offers traditional options. I tried panuchos de cochinita, tacos de lechón, doraditas de pescado, and despite the hot day, a lime soup. All tasted amazing. For dessert, I had a marquesita, which are made on a stand just outside on the sidewalk.

Service was very good, although a bit slow. Price was very...
