Kang's Cocina — Restaurant in Mexico City

I've come here quite a few times now, and this is good, authentic Korean comfort food.

I've basically rotated across these 4 dishes, ordered by favorites: bacon/pork belly marinaded - this one is like a stir fry with a kimchi like sauce bibimbap - a mix of everything - egg, vegetables, bulgogi. bacon/pork belly non-marinaded - it's like kbbq pork belly bulgogi - good flavor, but is slightly dry

Each meal comes with rice, kimchi, korean pancake, and soup.

It is a little pricey, 200-250 per dish, but I think the cost is justified because the food is high quality, and the portions are very generous.

The only thing to be aware of is that Kang makes everything to order and does everything himself, meaning that it takes around 15-20 minutes to prepare the food, and if there are other people in front of you, then it's going to be a long wait.

We visited on a Sunday with only one other table with people. After 45 minutes waiting, we asked how much longer and they said 15 more minutes, but it took 25-30 more minutes until we received all of our food because they only brought 1 of the 2 dishes we ordered after 15 minutes and it took another 10 minutes for the other dish.

No matter how good the food is, a 1 hour and 15 minute wait in an empty restaurant is unacceptable. Even if everything is made by hand in the moment, you still have to let your customers know the approximate time things will be ready when it's such a long time. The owner was nice, a little communication would have helped a lot.

You just lost new first time customers from ever returning. The food was good, but the service and experience ruined everything.

If u love Korean food, you can't do better than "Kang's Cocina", one of the best Korean restaurants in Mexico. One of the things I love about it is that the food is very taste, Mr. Kang was very polite all the way, btw he is the chef and the water, so it was a good service.
