Monte Cristo — Restaurant in Mexico City

Usually the food is amazing, but avoid the recommendations or verify if the meal they recommended you is actually with everything they offer you, I had an experience and accepted the chef reccomendations but was nothing related with what I got. Supposed to be a fish with a seafood sauce and was just a tomato sauce with 4 very small shrimps when the server said is coming with variety of seafood, sadly was not and after the server come to apologize for this but they didn’t offer me to change the meal (was not cheap in the menu). Besides that is an amazing place to eat with great quality and good portions.

The customer service is more than you can expect from the valet parking to the staff inside the restaurant.

Just keep away from server reccomendations and choose anything else from the menu, you won’t regrets.

Excellent assortment of different authentic Mexican foods, with a variety of both seafood and land animals and a good set of healthier fares as well. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of the food. Parking is secure and valet which is a bonus. Guacamole and salsa are made tableside at whatever level of picante you prefer. Menus in English and Spanish and staff are quite good at speaking English if needed. Didn't have a chance to work through their tequila and mezcal list but I was told it's very good. Try the flan or sweet elote bread...

El restaurante está ubicado en lo que fue una ex hacienda y conserva mucho tal escencia, desde que entras te transporta a la época en la que tuvo su esplendor, no es necesario hacer reservación, sin embargo es muy recomendable hacerla cuando se vaya con más de 5 personas. Cuentan con un virtuoso pianista que hace amena la estadía en el lugar, las decoraciones están escogidas con muy buen gusto y si es que se desea dar una buena impresión, vaya que este es el lugar!. Definitivamente los precios puede que parezcan algo altos, sin embargo hay que tener en cuenta que los alimentos están preparados con una calidad excelsa y logran transmitirte unas experiencias únicas, logran fusionar muy bien la tradicional gastronomía mexicana servida en platos de barro sin perder la elegancia y altivez de la alta gastronomía, ésto se observa desde el sabor de las tortillas (hechas de forma artesanal y con toques de perejil) hasta en las salsas hechas frente a ti con un molcajete, mortero y con unas hábiles manos que golpean piedra con piedra tal cual y como hace 200 años atrás se debió de haber visto tan frecuentemente en las cocinas mexicanas. Con respecto al precio he de comentar que la experiencia lo vale, aunque en promedio la cuenta anda rondando los 150 dólares o 3000 pesos mexicanos (para 3 personas). He de recalcar que la carta es muy constante más no por eso no es buena o variada, cuenta con una sección de aves, mariscos, carnes de res y ensaladas. Dispone de estacionamiento gratuito y se puede alquilar un espacio para eventos además de que cumple con todas las normas de bioseguridad y se puede escoger un lugar dentro o fuera...
