It all began when our best friend told us that this was her favorite restaurant. Then I looked on their Instagram and indeed, the images were beautiful, well lighted, cozy, with photographs of their dishes and their cocktails. Months passed and finally we invited a friend on a Saturday and the three of us went to Zagala. First, cocktails, they had a tamarind margarita, very sweet and very good. I drank just one margarita. Two would be too many as an aperitif. We ordered the big steak. The flavor was very good, the salt gave it a good flavor. The problem was that it was heavy in the stomach. The day after we were experiencing the same effect: constipation. Is that normal after eating a steak? I guess not. That made us question the quality of the food. How was the animal treated before? That’s a pity, because everything was going well. The terrace is beautiful, the table was super comfortable, with big, clean, beige cushions. Maybe one of the most comfortable tables I’ve been in a restaurant. The salad next to the steak was excellent, juicy, with a nice green color, the dressing, salty, like a vinaigrette, with little onions, I wanted that salad as a starter just for me. The amuse bouche was a cute detail for the palette. The eggs with potatoes very good. The deserts were very good too. Read moreI ate here last night and was first blown away by the taste and refinement of the decor. It's several levels, which we viewed as we ascended to the roof terrace. The seats are comfortable and the service attentive and desirous of feedback. The stars of the meals were the appetizers, papas zagala and the croquettes of ham were divine. I had fideua as a main and the noodles were great, the chicken a little dry. Desert I experimented with the 'tocino' which is sweetened egg yolks and although they were done perfectly, they weren't really my thing. Tal como lo sugirió el mesero, no necesitan nada más aun cuando nosotros pedimos algo de alioli para acompañar. El lingote de lechón es quizá el más rico que recuerdo en muchísimo tiempo, lleno de sabor y jugoso con la piel confitada y crocante, tal y como debe ser un buen lechon! Por supuesto que decir de los chipirones en su tinta con su guarnición de arroz blanco! Son un plato de felicidad en su más pura expresión gastronómica! Todo acompañado de un tinto que en esta ocasión fue un Macán Clásico que llegó a la temperatura correcta y listo para disfrutarse. Muy buena selección de vinos en general.
