Had high hopes for treating myself to a special dinner tonight. The food was good, presentation even better, and the servers were attentive. Until, that is, a group of ~15 was seated behind me and service to my table of one plummeted to zero. After more than a half hour wait I began making inquiries about my dessert order. Upon the third inquiry I was informed that I would have to wait until the group behind me had been served. I promptly requested the bill, paid and left. Was I charged for food I was not served? The chicharrones were probably the best we'd ever had, we ordered a second plate! Other highlights were the dock mole and lamb tacos, really excellent food all round.
The mezcal menu and cocktails were also fantastic, the mezcal was in a separate book broken out by agave species and then region of Mexico. We didn't know where to start but the waiter was very helpful. Cocktails were great, we had one that we probably wouldn't order again but are glad we tried.
Also a hot tip: happy hour goes until 8:00PM, two for one cocktails, can't go...
