This is my review of Mozzamare, a restaurant within the Marival Distinct resort, where we recently stayed for several days. I was thoroughly impressed with the place. The service was outstanding, characterized by exceptional politeness and professionalism. I would like to give special mention to a few staff members. Victor, who served us at the beach, was prompt and knowledgeable. He even introduced us to a delicious new cocktail milkshake. Israel Lomelin, who attended to us during dinner, was notably polite and precise, ensuring our meals were served on time. Many others at the resort also merit high praise.
However, our experience with the food was mixed. Initially, we enjoyed the rack of lamb, which was exceptionally well-prepared. But on subsequent evenings, it was served undercooked, for which I find no justifiable reason. That said, other dishes were delightful, such as the corn chowder soup, mozzarella-cloud salad, and the velvet cake.
And let's not forget the view – the sunsets are gorgeous, with each evening presenting a different spectacle. The ambiance is further enhanced by the vibes of live music, making the experience unforgettable. Overall, it was a great experience with just a few areas for...
Read moreWe had dinner here twice while in Nuevo Vallarta. The first night was fairly good but the service was a little slow. The second night, the service was terrible and the food very average. We had to ask for someone to take our order and ask about our food several times. The bill was wrong and we had to get it corrected twice. I do not recommend unless you are desperate in which case plan to stay a while or plan to repeatedly request for your server and your food. Check your bill. We’ve been to Mexico quite a few times so we know what is typical. This was not.
I had the rack of lamb twice. The first time it was very good. The second time is was not hot and they didn’t bring the sauce I requested.
My husband had the watermelon salad which was a piece of watermelon with some tiny chunks of feta cheese and a little bit of green on top of the watermelon. I do not recommend.
My son had the chicken fajitas which were over cooked. We had to remind them to bring the tortillas.
The churros are good. We had two other desserts that were not good: crème brûlée and the pineapple tarte. I do not recommend either.
My other kid has the salmon and said it was good .
Serving sizes were...
Read moreWe had such a frustrating experience here!! I had used a form on the Marival website to request a reservation for our group of 14 to celebrate the last night of our reunion, corresponded with Marival staff over email several weeks in advance, and was told that we were all set. On the day, our group split into 4 taxis to get there. We had trouble getting to the place since the Google Maps driving directions are incorrect (and they don't warn you about this), and then we had to wait over 20 minutes just to talk to the hostess. When I told her about our reservation, all she said was that they don't take reservations, and she was extremely unhelpful!! I showed her the email but she was totally unapologetic -- she just kept repeating that they don't take reservations. She refused all of our requests for help and, after all that, we had to just pack everyone into 4 more taxis and go back. We wasted an hour of time and well over 1,000 pesos on taxis, to encounter only rudeness and a total lack of responsibility or even apology. Super frustrating, especially for what we hoped would be a special celebration for our group's last night together. We will...
