Wonderful View, Great Food, but totally irresponsible. Told the waiter first thing that my wife was deathly allergic to nuts. Appetizer and main course was fine. Ordered Crepes with ice cream and caramel for desert. When it came it was covered with Walnuts. Told the person who delivered it (not our original server) that my wife was allergic to nuts and he took it away. When he brought it back there were no visible nuts. We started to eat but quickly ran into nuts hidden between the crepes and the Ice Cream. They had taken the original back and scrapped the nuts off the top and brought it back as if they re-made it. This experience ruined our entire evening. We had to rush back to our condo so my wife could brush all of the nut pieces out of her teeth. We were both scared to death, Anaphylactic Shock is no laughing matter. We were miles from a hospital and very concerned. Our waiter had written the note on our ticket about the nut allergy but someone just ignored it. Trying to save a couple of dollars and risk a persons life....

My wife and I are from San Diego, California. We eat at restaurants regularly and so far our 12 days in Puerto Vallarta have been disappointing for the food. Finally, our saving grace was Frascati in La Cruz. The calamari tasted fresher than the dozen of restaurants in USA. The cheeses are DEFINITELY imported and aged, you can taste it.

My wife had the 5 cheese fettuccine (Cinque Formaggi). The noodles tasted hand made and the sauces tasted like aged (good different) cheeses.

I had the Divina Comedia, which was flavorful (aged cheese again) and savory with the steak. No tendons or toughness to the meat, very well prepared. The shrimp were a very contrasting flavor my wife liked but I did not think belonged.

Overall:

Expect FRESH food, with aged (quality) ingredients. The service might seem slow (but it makes up for in quality.)

I love this restaurant, it is a favorite go to place for me. The pasta is all made fresh by hand, everything we have ever had there has been absolutely delicious and seasoned perfectly. They have a fantastic wine list and the service is always impeccable no matter how busy they are. Even if the waiters are busy they make you feel relaxed and ensure you are enjoying yourself and your meal. The open air design and view of the marina only add to the ambiance.
