Harassed- stay away! My family (husband and two young daughters) on a golf cart (you have to be on one) but staying outside property just finished brunch for the holiday at the ST. Regis. We wanted to go check out the Sufi to make a reservation and inquire about a day pass (they don't have one). The first guard let us through clearly understanding what we asked. When we parked our cart, went in, the guard then was rude and demanded to know where we stayed- fine- we explained all. We were told we could explore a bit- we did. My husband who stayed In the gold cart waited for word about whether we could reserve - was then accosted by said rude guard- "What is your name, why are you here". He answered plainly again. I came outside and asked in Spanish (hearing the guard do an all call radio post) "Anything wrong"- he refused to answer. Apparently, he was calling a security car to escort us out (without us knowing) following us the entire way and totally freaking my two kids out. When I called the manager- UTTERLY USELESS- we were told "no outsiders allowed any longer to eat here- no reservations allowed". Bad experience- don't go- horrible! We have eaten all over Mexico never had a bad experience - this was the...
Read moreThis is one of the most amazing dinners I have had in my lifetime. It’s very picturesque right on the sand with gorgeous set design with the backdrop being the calm ocean with the pier in view as well. When it gets dark, the globe lights turn on that are hanging on the giant tree that spreads above the tables. It’s very peaceful and quite a small venue keeping it quiet at most. Our server was amazing, very kind and knowledgeable, someone you’d see again and he’d remember you personally. We ordered everything on the menu and I would definitely recommend doing so; it was so delicious - I have never felt so at peace and delighted with everything. This would be the perfect location for a romantic marriage proposal or a small and...
Read moreRecently was denied entrance at the gate even though we had a confirmed reservation for a birthday party of 8 people. Reason? We needed to come from a homeowners unit and not from outside the gate even though we have been to Sufi with this long time beachfront 4 Season’s homeowner several times. Reason? Apparently, there is a “new” policy whereby the homeowner must make the reservation and guests must come from the homeowners’ unit. An arbitrary new policy that they neglected to inform us of at the time we made the reservation. We will never patronize this mediocre restaurant again. Beware, policies change with the wind and it really is not worth the trouble. Too many other...
