Stumbled across this amazing spot with my friend the other day and we couldn't be happier we did. The cocktails are top-notch (definitely try the "Slappy Slap"), the food is excellent (I was blown away by the flavors in the guacamole alone), and the service couldn't have been better. Our server Silvana was super attentive and helpful when recommending different cocktails and food items. We also had the opportunity to meet the owner, Jorge, and learned about the backstory of this brand new establishment. The decor was inspired by his grandfather who used to collect unique masks, which now decorate the walls. Jorge also created the wood designs throughout the bar, given his impressive architectural background and creative skills, which was inspired by the front of a boat where sea salt spray lifts into one's face. Hence, Kara Salada - "Salty Face". He and his partner, the lead bartender Keven, also own and operate Aruba Day Drink in Tijuana, which was ranked #40 on "North America's 50 Best Bars" list. That level of quality and service has definitely shown up here. We also came to learn that Keven is an award-winning mixologist as well. All-in-all, this is a place you should not miss if you're in Puerto Escondido. 10/10...
Read moreBest cocktail spot in Puerto! Knowing that these owners also own a bar in Tijuana that made the North America Top 50 Bars list, I had high expectations for Kara Salada going into it. My expectations were then exceeded! The cocktails are on point and their happy hour from 5:30-7:30 every day is extremely reasonable for the quality of the drinks. Pictures is the Vino en Banana and the Peni-Chillin. The staff is also fantastic! Daniel is a world class bartender, and Silvanna will make you feel like you’re the only guest that matters. It is the best service we’ve had in Puerto. And as a bonus, their food rocks. We had the marlin tostado and an incredible Asian fusion taco. We will be back to continue to try the remainder of the menu....
Read moreExcellent tasty, varied and quality cocktails. (Puerto pricing) space is quite large. Can sit at the bar or at tables. Kitchen open till 10:30 pm and bar closes at 11 (or 11:30 if busy). Bartender is very cognizant of allergies and taste profiles and can help you pick a cocktail. Bravo! . The tacos de Cameron y chicharrón prensado was very good but quite salty. My friend really enjoyed her tostada de marlin ahumado.
I recommend this place for a fancy cocktail...
