We were on vacation looking for some Mezcal tasting and we searched and found this place. Wandering down a dark alley we thought..it can't be down here, can it? But yes it was. Not what you might initially expect from a "bar" at first, but this place was awesome. It exceeded all our expectations and then some! The servers (boss? And employees) were welcoming, personable and helpful. We only stayed a little while because we had a boat tour the next day, but the time we had was filled with amazing Mezcal samples, laughs and an unforgettable experience. Read moreThis is a must do experience when in Huatulco. Don't let the dirt floor and overall rusticness turn you away. Experience Omar's own Mezcal as well as some of his other Mezcal "infusions"..... Just ask, and they will show you. (Omar is the owner and will sit down and chat with you) The food menu doesn't really exist but, when we asked, we were treated to a very authentic rustic Mexican dish (can't remember the name) that tasted like someones abuela made it in a village and brought it down to us. It was like a large quesadilla cooked over an open fire, basic but delicious. You might also meet the bartender, Cain/Abel/Willie Nelson ..... Also part time pirate....
Read moreWe came during the May low season so were the only ones there. I recommend to WhatsApp the business beforehand to confirm opening time, the hours fluctuate sometimes. The mezcal is made by the owner and everything was delicious, even the mezcalitas were super tasty and not too sweet. He gave us small tastings of different types of mezcal (even the MJ medicinal one) and chatted with us the whole time.
