La Palapa del Güero Mariscos — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

This is a very authentic, local seafood restaurant far from the beach. The seafood was fresh. The drinks were cold. English is not readily spoken and the menu is only in Spanish but worth the effort. We had the Coconut Shrimp and there was a ton of them. A bit overcooked but still delicious. The ceviche was nice and fresh and delicious. The food was good, but the service was not up to my standards. It took them more than 5 minutes to come and acknowledge that we were waiting to have our drink order taken. They never came to check on us and the servers did not have much info...

Great food! Good value for money! Service is good , super firendly and fast. We had the jaiba empanadas, whole fried fish, tostada of jaiba and breaded shrimp tacos. All were very well served...
