Bar 201 — Restaurant in Querétaro

This spot was recommended by old school foodies. Definitely not a place for aesthetic seekers, yet the food is really tasty. When we got there one of the younger waiters told is this is a snack bar, with every drink you pick a snack, tostadas, tartare or shrimp broth when you get to the third drink you can pick chicken mole or breaded beef steak. So for one that isn't in the mood for drinking, this isn't really the spot the be at. I tried to tell the waiter I just wanted the food no booze, but this seemed to baffle him. Either way I ended up having the 3 beers and eating the breaded beef steak. The steak was nice and crispy, the beans on point. The salsa was mouthwatering. Perfect level of acidity needed. Fuimos en sábado, a eso de las 2pm. No había mucha gente, diría que estaba más vacío que lleno, por lo que el mesero estaba muy al pendiente de nuestra mesa. Me gustó bastante el lugar. Es como una cantina tradicional, te van llevando botana mientras vas pidiendo de beber. Primero llevaron cacahuates, luego caldo de pescado (muy bueno), luego tostadas de atún, después carne tártara, de nuevo cacahuates y al final nos llevaron a cada uno un plato de pechuga de pollo empanizada con arroz y frijoles. Hay que tomar en cuenta que el lugar no es un restaurante, entonces no esperen que se esmeren demasiado en la imagen de los platillos. Diría que la botana es comida sencilla y rica. Entonces, la plática con los amigos y las bebidas se hace muy amena. La música creo que provenía de una rockola entonces dependerá del gusto de la gente, la música que escucharás. Nosotros estábamos en una mesa al fondo del local, el volumen de la música permitía escuchar la conversación con mis amigos sin esfuerzo, prefiero que sea así a aquellos lugares que tienen la música muy fuerte que no se puede platicar a gusto. Finalmente, no recuerdo los precios de las bebidas, pero creo que son moderados, pues éramos 6 personas y la cuenta fue poco menos de $1,200. Eso sí, nadie salió arrastrándose... También como dato, las cervezas que venden son Bohemias, carta blanca, etc. Es decir, no hay Victoria, Modelo, etc. Pero como yo tomo cerveza de la que sea (excepto Tecate light), eso...

This is a very good place. You pay for what you drink, and they feed you 🤤 which is simply great! It was my first time thwre but I am pretty sure I will come back to it more than once.
