Great spot, piss poor middle management. I'll explain.
We went here on a Thursday afternoon, four of us, and each had 1-2 beers and an entree. Midway through my second, I notice that there's a huge chip in the lip of my glass. I call the server's attention to it and he was apologetic; I said I'd finish the beer and didn't need a replacement.
Then, as we're waiting for the cheque, this random middle aged woman comes up to the table holding up a phone which was clearly filming and asking us questions, like where we were from. We told her to go away and then (which toook a while), after realizing she'd recorded us (I don't care what for, I don't want have someone shove a camera in my face and record me when I'm in public), we went to the manager (which is a Karen phrase but I'm reclaiming it) and asked him to address the situation. Which he did, including advising us that he had gotten the person to delete all of the videos from the phone. Great, well done him.
Now here's the weird part. The cheque comes, and it's all what we ordered. Any bar I've ever been to that serves you a beer in a chipped glass, that beer's on the house. And a bar that allows some weirdo in to harass its customers? The customer's bill disappears.
Neither of these things happened. Despite a manager being aware of what was/had happened. A middle manager who had been devolved authority to deal with situations like this properly would have done something. This fella didn't, I assume because he didn't know he could.
Anyway, otherwise, beer and food were both great, and our server was absolutely on the top of his game and a nice fella (as was the manager who talked to us, for the record).
Someone senior should be addressing this; particularly their policy on letting randoms in to...
Read more*See my original review below. First it takes forever before you are acknowledged by waitstaff. This is our 2nd visit. We weren’t terribly impressed last time but thought maybe it was an off day. Guess not, as today was even worse. First, you can’t buy tasters of the beer. They only have one set taster of 6 beers and only 1 was the one I wanted to try. When the waitress listed the beers there were 2 I wanted but when she brought the beers out, one of the ones had been switched for something else. They weren’t out of the other one, just decided to change the offered beers without telling us differently. Their beers are ok but as a beer judge, I’m not impressed yet again. I’ve had much better artisanal beers all over Mexico and even here in Queretaro. The food is terrible. My soft pretzel I ordered was hard then crumbled into pieces when I tried to tear it. It’s like a giant hard pretzel. Dry as a bone. No yeast flavor at all. Spouse got the Nuremberg torta. Sausage was very good but the potato salad was terrible. Potatoes were still somewhat raw and hard as rocks. It also needed salt and tasted like old bacon. I gave two stars due to cool locale and good sausage.
Original review- Jan 28,2022-It was a cool location in an old factory with a lot of parking but the waitress didn’t know much about the beer which is necessary at a brewery. The food was only ok. Ordered burger medium well and it was red in the middle. Cajun fries were pretty bland. Pretzel was pretty good but needed salt. Some beers were not to style at all and some tasted a little “off” but also the waitress got all the tasters mixed up so we had to figure out on our own what was what. It was quiet when we arrived at 3pm but...
Read moreWhat a great place for a drink, a bite and to get to know the history of Queretaro. The owners took an old textile factory and converted it to an awesome brewery/restaurant without losing the essence of the factory. The have a large selection of beers (I had the Belgian Pale Ale, the Port wrote Delanyero West Coast IPA and rhe Macanuda Brown Ale and they were all above average with the brown ale being a mouthful of flavors. I also had the Guacamole y Platanos (not quite how my mom makes it, but still delicious with a bit of a bite in the guac) and the hamburger with Queso Azul. I am not a blue cheese fan, so I skipped it, the onion and the pickle. The burger was large and perfectly cooked (medium). It came with fries that, though frozen from a bag, were well cooked and tasty (I don't usually rave about frozen fries, but this is the exemption). The atmosphere at this place is extraordinary. The seating area for eating is open to the sky and is quite a sight at night. The old factory structure adds an extraordinary feeling of experiencing history. I can't wait for my return...
