AK Restaurante & bar — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

We were tired after a long day at Tulum and wanted some nice hot and tasty food. We were staying at a place walking distance to AK. So we decided to try it! Our dinner experience was great. The food was delicious. My wife had the chicken burrito, I had the Tortilla sopa (am vegetarian) and my kids had nachos and cheese quesadilla. Everyone liked the food. I loved my Tortilla sopa! Hot and delicious!!

The best part was dessert. Even though they were out of some choices we got the Apple ice cream (Manzanita). We were expecting just a dollop of ice cream. I have celiac (strict gluten-free), and I'm vegetarian, so I ordered the vegetarian corn tacos. I had my celiac card explaining things as well, which they took to the chef. Unfortunately, while the meal was likely safe from a gluten-free perspective, the food itself was extremely bland, as the filling was unseasoned and there were no side sauces, rice, or beans with the tacos. Ordered the pastor tacos, guacamole, rice and steak tacos. The meat was not good in either type of taco. The pastor was extremely salty.
