I just noticed a previous review that mentioned no vegan options. Check out the menu in my post and see what’s available. It looks like there are a few options now. As of November 2023, this place is fairly new, under a year old. What a lovely surprise. As we walked down the road, it looked like a very small place that might just be selling coffee and a few pastries. We were looking for a bit of a more substantial snack mid day, but we thought we should pop in and take a look at it before going further down the road. The view from the road is very deceiving. The offerings look quite slim until you come in and look at the menu. If you speak English, make sure you grab an English Menu Instead of trying to decipher the Spanish one, as we did for a while! At this point, we looked to our left and realized that there was a whole restaurant back there with beautiful concrete and wood flooring, artisnal wood chairs, shade sails above, and just a beautiful vibe. As much as we love all of the Mexican and seafood fare that Akumal offers, it was just so refreshing to have a few of the more homey comforts that we were used to at the midpoint in our trip. Croissants and BLTs. Eggy things, and cinnamon buns. Brownies and burritos. Carrot cake, and quiche. Chilaquiles. A lovely smattering. I had an iced latte and my husband had a XX beer. Service was a bit slow, but we didn’t feel like we needed to be rushing on our our vacation. We just wanted to enjoy this new space and support a new business. Also, we figured that they might be running things fairly lean while they get on their feet, which is totally understandable. Atmosphere was surprisingly amazing - jungly and upscale - and the food was refreshing and delicious. Don’t pass this place by, thinking it’s just a hole in the wall (jungle). It seems they have put a lot into building this new destination and I really hope they make it into the institution I think it can be. Bravo.

Tucked just off the main road in the condo section of Akumal Bay, Jungle Café is a charming little oasis that instantly transports you to another world. Nestled along a peaceful creek and shaded by mangrove trees, the setting alone is worth the visit. Open daily from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM, this spot is perfect for a relaxed and flavorful breakfast. The coffee was excellent, and the food even better. I had the Burrito Royal—a breakfast burrito with grilled shrimp and black beans—that was so good I’d happily come back day after day for it. We also tried the French toast with bacon crumbles on top, and it was a perfect sweet and savory treat. Special shoutout to Selena for her warm and welcoming service. She and her team made us feel right at home with their friendly smiles and top-notch hospitality. If you’re anywhere near Akumal, do yourself a favor and start your day at Jungle Café. You won’t regret it!

Great breakfast place just walking distance from our condo. Open 9 am - Noon. Very reasonably priced. Good espresso, fresh juices, and delicious traditional Mexican breakfasts. The green chilaquiles(add two eggs), a green juice and a double shot of espresso were my go-tos during our stay. The only draw back is that the power went out twice in the area(including our condo). When that happens the restaurant is forced to close which is to be expected. I definitely recommend this place for breakfast if you’re staying in the area

The previous good reviews had me stoked to try this new place, having been coming to Half Moon Bay for nearly 20 years, a place to walk and have breakfast and coffee is a welcome addition. Unfortunately for my family of four, it didn't end up being a positive experience. It was busy and we decided to patiently wait for a table.. it was at least 10 minutes before a gentlemen walked by and at least acknowledged us while all the female staff walked by us multiple times while basically averting their eyes. Walk ins for "to go" were welcomed at the register so I decided to order a to go coffee while waiting for a table. A sassy server basically told me no. I can't order a coffee. Well ok. Waited about 40 minutes for the table and we're sat down and told she would bring us menus (same sassy server). Another 10+ minutes go by and nothing. I flagged down the male server and told him we'd simply like to order and placed an order and received food quickly, which I will chalk up to the fact the place was basically empty by this point (he was nice by the way). We ate and paid, and while walking out the door the miss sassy pants decided to thank me for my patience in a very condescending way while smirking. It took a lot to simply ignore it but I did. Won't be returning here and will never recommend the...

If you're looking for a truly magical escape from everything, look no further than this coffee shop nestled by mangroves. The view is stunning, with coatimundis, many different types of birds chirping, and small fish swimming around, making for a truly unique and unforgettable experience. There's nothing else like it.

But that's not all - the coffee is the best I've ever had, and the green juice is life-changing. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious options that will leave you wanting more. You cannot go wrong ordering food here, its the best! On the weekends, they offer cochinita, a specialty in the area that is simply delicious.

The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home in this beautiful location. Everything about this coffee shop is truly beautiful, providing a perfect escape from the world. It's the perfect place to sit and drift away while enjoying some of the best coffee and food around.

Overall, I highly recommend this coffee shop to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable experience in the area. The combination of stunning location, delicious coffee and food, and friendly staff make it a must-visit destination for anyone in the area. Don't miss out on this truly...
