Dorado — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

The Dorado is a beautiful Ocean-Front restaurant with open concept and fresh sea-breeze through its sliding all glass walls. While this restaurant is a great option at the Royalton riviera cancun some odd menu item decisions mean that your experience may vary depending on what you choose to order! This theme is consistent through Royalton riviera cancuns other restaurants as well. For example the ahi tuna burger had beef burger toppings a low quality sesame seed bun, pickles and a cheese slice??? The Ahi tuna was cooked beautifully and to your choice of done-ness. But it was wasted by the very odd and quite unpleasant choice of toppings and flavours. The lobster bisq was actually shrimp and seem almost out of a can. Then on the flip side if you like octopus the octopus salad was beautiful and delicious, balanced flavours and cooked perfectly. The steak while lower quality than our previous visits is still the best in the Mayan and was perfectly cooked and delicious! Again,properly seasoned and flavourful! The sides were also well presented and cooked with great garlic flavour and great texture. We believe the inconsistency is due to some post COVID issues as we have been to Royalton in the past and these minor issues were not present. To be clear the Royalton chain is by far still our favourite resort chain! For now just choose the right dishes and you will be pleased with most restaurants on the resort!...

3.5 of 5 stars Located in the Hideaway section of the resort and overlooking the beach. It shows to be open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, but we chose to eat dinner there. Ambiance is fantastic. Food was good, but could have been better.

Appetizer • Catch of the Day “Tiradito” - essentially the catch of the day served sashimi. I did not like it but others may. • Onion Cheese Fugazza - similar to a cheese pizza, but heavy on the onion. Very good. • Shrimp Pops Salad - friend shrimp over a salad, also very good.

Excellent service from Abelardo, Ricardo and other guys. Uber has a great knowledge about wines, so you can always have a good advice from him. Food was amazing and we were there every day for lunch or dinner. The manager was very friendly.
