El Taco Loco Bacalar — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

BEWARE: I ordered the mixed cocktail (shrimp, oyster, and something else in a cocktail) here on a Saturday afternoon. The flavor was… bland. Even after adding salsa and lime juice, it just wasn’t that good. I feel like it needed more cocktail sauce and less seafood liquid or whatever it came with. The lime-ade was good, though.

The next ~24 hours were filled with nausea and abdominal cramps, which pretty much deducted a day from my first time, 4-day trip to Bacalar. Suffice to say that next time I come to visit, I won’t be eating at Taco Loco.

Service was also slow, but I think that may be a regional thing, as I experienced the same complete lack of even a slight pep in step from every place I ate at (I’d probably be pretty relaxed too if I lived in a state of...

WOW, our Mayan guide took us here for a good, quick meal after a tour of the fort and a ride on Bacalar Laguna. It was GREAT!!! The food was outstanding and the service was so quick, we couldn’t believe it. CLEAN

Was really excited to try this place because of all the high reviews. My partner and I tried the fried fish tacos, the fried fish tacos, the mojo de ajo shrimp tacos, the mojo de ajo snail tacos, and the crab meat tacos. We loved the garlic sauce that was on all of the tacos. Our favs were the mojo de ajo tacos. We also tried the guacamole and it was flavorful. The service was a little slow so bring your patience.
