Chen's was wonderful! I wish we'd stayed in the area long enough to go more than once.

The owner Gabrielle was super kind and lovely. He tolerated our poor Spanish and even taught us a couple of words. He gave us great recommends for the area. You can tell he loves his town.

The coffee was fantastic. Highly recommend their cold brew. Some of the best I've ever had in Central America. We also had the banana strawberry smoothie and the carrot celery juice. They were great, obviously super fresh ingredients.

We asked for no straws and were pleasantly surprised when he told us that all the takeaway cups and straws were biodegradable! It's been a rarity in our travels to find companies that care about that, and it was so refreshing.

Wow! We loved this place! To drink, we ordered a capaccino with almond milk and a green juice, and to eat we ordered The New York and The Mexican Scrambled eggs. Everything we consumed was absolutely divine! It was the best coffee I've had in Mexico so far, the green juice caused us to let out an involuntary "yum!!", and the bagels were super delicious and filling. I especially loved the fluffiness of the bagels. The outdoor sitting was super chill and we were happy with the prices. We would definitely come back here and try other things...

A great place away from the hustle and bustle, with a simple menu perfect for those seeking something uncomplicated. Gabo is fantastic to talk to and offers great tips about the area. I stayed in Bacalar for five days and visited every day. It became my go-to spot for coffee and chatting with Gabo, who provided valuable information on places to visit and where to buy groceries.
