The wine selection is phenomenal—natural wines, funky pet-nats, crisp whites, and deep, thoughtful reds, all sourced with real love and knowledge. The staff doesn’t just pour—they guide. They asked us what we liked, made some fun recommendations (including a Mexican orange wine that blew our minds), and shared the stories behind the bottles. It’s rare to find a spot where people actually care about what they serve you—Sweet Child nails it.

We sat outside under string lights, overlooking the water, sipping chilled rosé while music played softly in the background and boats glided past on the lagoon. It felt like we were in a dream. They even had a few tasty snacks that paired perfectly—simple, high-quality, and delicious.

I wanted to take the opportunity to say a big thank Mitzi and Derek for looking after us so well. Everything was delicious and beautiful . The staff are so kind and attentive. The space has great energy. I have been there 5 times in the last 3 weeks. Being a fussy foodie from Australia I can say the food is incredible! We rarely go back to the same place twice but made an exception here, not just twice but three times. This is such a cute and fun bar and super convenient to walk to! The food is wonderful, the drinks are great (specifically the wine) and the people are even better. The owner and bartenders treated us like long time friends and made our trip to Bacalar all the more fun. Highly recommend for food, drinks, friends and a good time!
