Frida — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

This was our 3rd day at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. My kids chose Frida for dinner out of curiosity. When we got there at 5pm, there was a short lineup.

Right at the opening of dinner time, the hostess greeted us and took us to our table within 5 minutes. The servers were very nice and the food was served within a very reasonable time considering there were about 3 tables ahead of us. I'd say about 10 to 15 minutes. I had my medium-rare tenderloin, which was tender and pink right in the middle. After we had our main course, my daughter's skirt steak was so good I ordered another one. It came within 10 minutes. The grilled skirt steak was really good. On top of that, the chimichurri sauce that came with a steak was a perfect combination. My son ordered the seabass. According to him it was seasoned to perfection. For the desert we ordered churros which were delicious, especially with the chocolate sauce.

Even there were not many people, they did not make us sit till 930 PM. Service was slow. If do not know spanish you are treated second class. Different level of service. Took one hour to bring entrees. Forget most of our drinks. No live band in up scale Mexican restaurant. Again you will end up eating as no other...

Mesa de 12 personas. Esperamos 1 hora para tener mesa. Nos sentamos a cenar a las 21. 6 adultos y 6 niños. La comida, nada del otro mundo. Las fajitas secas y sin gracia. Lo único bueno era el mixiote de cordero. Lo demás no acertó nadie. Pero lo peor no fue la comida, sino la falta de respeto absoluto por parte del servicio: Cuando uno acababa de cenar, le sacaban el plato, sin esperar a que acabáramos todos. Nos dejaron a oscuras a las 22.05 porque cerraban a las 22, pero estábamos con los postres. De excusa dijeron que se había ido la luz, pero al quejarnos, mágicamente volvió la luz. Aún en la mesa, nos sacaron el mantel!!!!! Ahí entendimos que era hora de marchar.

En resumen: comida mediocre, servicio pésimo,...
