MARDE FONDO — Restaurant in Sinaloa

Lovely setting in an open courtyard. The salmon was excellent. The guacamole was good. The fish taco was also very tasty. The service was good. I had read the reviews about big portions. That was not our experience. My salmon, whole excellent, was at least 2 oz underweight. The fish taco was very good but not large. Perhaps we just ordered the wrong things. They had a lovely Trio and the young lady had a very good voice, but they sang one song and packed up for the night at about 6:30. Would have loved to hear more. We had one mineral water and the things we mentioned and our bill with a 10% tip was $680. I was interested in the taco special by the kilo to share, but could not get anyone to explain if you could just order say half a kilo or if they just fillet one fish and weigh it, or how it actually worked. They did have some very interesting options, and we might come back and try the crab tacos or the house special. I was quite surprised that there were no real vegetable options on the menu or any vegetables server with the salmon. Being diabetic I prefer to eat a third or more of my meal...

WARNING! CHECK EACH BITE BEFORE SWALLOWING! My 7yo son spit a bite of his hamburger out to find a 3+ inch piece of coiled steel wool! The staff acted like it was no big deal. They giggled back and forth with each other and made light of what I thought was a pretty serious issue. They offered to make something else. We declined. They then just simply removed it from the bill. I explained that was the least they could do; they were choosing to do the very least. We paid the remainder of our bill ($15) and left. We are not local; they are not losing our business. They seemed to not take in the severity of the issue. They said they would take this as a learning experience and try to do better next time. Beware! (How does that even happen! Perhaps from cleaning the grill? I just can't...

Amazing fresh seafood outdoor restaurant with amazing ceviche and fish! We also had a skirt steak that was fantastic and cooked on their wood fired grill. The service was great and kind, and the whole staff was anxious to serve us! The walls of the restaurant are cool and vibey, and I wish I could recreate it in my own backyard. I highly recommend the shrimp ceviche and ahi tuna ceviche. Perfectly fresh with lime, cucumber and avocado. If you want to eat healthy - eat here!
