Always stop here when visiting Mazatlan. Never disappointed. Consistently good traditional Mexican seafood. Service is outstanding. On this trip, we didn't realize they were closing when we came in! They seated us, were warm and friendly, answered our menu questions and served us delicious food and margaritas. As was typical in Maz restaurants, we were not rushed at all and it wasn't until we were leaving, I realized the doors were closed and the sign flipped. They close at 7! This place is a hidden gem, if you have had your fill of hamburger and fries and want delicious seafood at a great price wander north on Carnaval a couple of blocks from the Machado look for the green doors. Mariscos Chon has become a favorite we have tried almost everything on the menu from Marlin Burretos to the deepfried fish and ceviches and have never been disappointed . We are constantly recommending this restaurante to friends and not once have we had negative feedback. Very good and authentic food. We asked a local we met where a good place near Centro was and she suggested this one. She said it was not fancy but her family eats there often. Although they were not busy with dine in, we noticed the phone was constantly ringing and the employees delivering orders to people. I got Diablo Shrimp and my wife got Governor Tacos with Shrimp.
