El Leñador — Restaurant in Sonora

My mouth is watering even as I take the time to write this review while thinking about the Filete de Cabreria Paquete Leñador. I had come here about 7 years ago for the first time and they are still just as good, if not even better than before!

#2 Cleanliness - FFBF RATING - 5/5 The entire restaurant was spotless, both inside and out. I felt like I had walked into an American restaurant except that the smell of food was totally Mexican! Amazing! The bathrooms were very clean and the salsa bar was kept clean and tidy.

#3 Salsa Bar - FFBF RATING - 5/5 The salsa bar had a great variety of salsas and vegetables clearly marked for which kinds of salsa were which. The salsa and guacamole were to die for! Great taste! Que rico!

#4 Chips and Salsa - FFBF RATING - 5/5 The chips are homemade and delicious. The salsa is just the right amount of spicy, but you can get more spicy or less spicy salsa at the salsa bar if you prefer that instead.

#5 Filete de Cabreria Paquete Leñador - FFBF RATING - 5/5 First of all, these are quite large and will feed 4 people! We had a large group and 2 of these platters were more than enough for our group to have their fill. This platter comes with costilla, tripa, quesadillas, frijoles charros or beans, salad, and tortillas. Our platter’s meat was a mixture of Rib Eye, New York, Sirloin, and Carne Asada. All of the meat was cooked perfectly and still with plenty of juice and flavor. You can get this served with flour or corn tortillas.

#6 Lemonada - FFBF RATING - 5/5 Their lemonada (lemonade) was absolutely delicious and fresh squeezed. A perfect blend of sweet and sour lemonade was very refreshing.

I travel to Hermosillo for work and try to stop here at least once during my trip for a meal. This place is awesome and food is always fresh, hot and tasty.
