Located at the Sonoran Sea Resort, “El Restaurant De Ramon” is a jewel among the standard fare in the crescent seaside area of Puerto Penasco, Mexico.
Upon entering the modern dinning room My family and I were greeted by a friendly staff and seated straight away. The menu offered an abundance of Traditional Mexican Cuisine.
Dinner started with complementary chips and salsa. A thicker restaurant style tortilla chip paired with a fresh chunky salsa. The salsa was great! It was tangy, with a medium heat finish. The salsa was gone before the chips were. Next to arrived was our appetizers of plated Shrimp Ceviche and a Shrimp Cocktail-Mexican Style. Immediately my eyes were drawn to the vivid colors of Green, White and Red, of both dishes. The taste of theses dishes were intensely fresh, tangy, sweet and savory explosions. So amazing! Finally our main course of Whole Fried Fish Platter, served with pico de gallo, grilled onions, fried jalapenos and corn tortillas. The fish was perfect!, Light and flaky with a hint of garlic butter and lime. Placed the fish, pico de gallo, grilled onion, sliced avocado in a warm corn tortilla and I was in heaven. Best fish tacos! Now I know you asking yourself, “They have eaten all this food. What are they having to drink? Tequila? Margarita? Beer? Wine? ” In the spirit of saving the best for last, We enjoyed multiple refills of the most refreshing and tasty home made limonada, (lemonade), I have ever had! It was so great we ordered some to go.
If all this sounds delicious wait until you see what awaits you at the weekend breakfast buffet. There are too many dishes to list here but there is enough to satisfy every taste, including a Made-To-Order omelet station maned by the Chef himself.
Would I recommend El Restaurant De Ramon? Absolutely, Yes! Amazing Experience! You can see the artistry, feel the love and taste the passion this Chef and his family have for food.

Read moreThe fillet mignon was perfect. You'll find it on the menu, called the Sebastian. The wonderful cut of beef was wrapped in bacon, placed on a bed of mashed potatoes, and topped with gorgonzola cheese. The quality of the meat was supreme. The tortilla soup was a beautiful broth, poured at the table, with avacado, cheese, and toasted tortilla strips. Enjoyable scenery constitutes the area, with the sea in the background. The coffee and bread was pretty good too. Service was impeccable. Recommended. As for the stuffed tomato, it was listed under salad as "Caprese Tower." My dining companion found it humorous in that it seemed a small portion and did not appear much of a salad, but I found it delightful and thought the portion was excellent, along with the presentation. Just right if you're in the mood for something not too heavy. Great touch with the pine nuts. I'd get it again. The orange juice is freshly squeezed. The salsa...
Read moreI wanted to post a review today about this restaurant because I have been coming here for years with my family. They have mastered the concept behind comfort food and have something for everyone!! I honestly can say that I never have been disappointed by any meal here. As well as the staff are incredibly overachieving, and an honorable mention is Lupita. She is such an amazing woman and makes the experience so much more worth it. If I could recommend anything I would say for breakfast is to try their chilaquiles rojos and for lunch the Ceviche is an excellent option!!
I do want to mention the restaurant is at the Sonoran Hotel however, the prices are super accommodating and also to enter you can just let the security know you’re going to attend the...
