LA COTIDIANA 1922 — Restaurant in Sonora

This is a great place that I will look forward to trying again. I didn't know that we were headed for a speakeasy entry but it was well done and exciting to start off. Service was quick, maybe too quick as we were asked for drink orders before getting the menu. I had something with watermelon and mezcal that was good but weak. The presentation of food was great as you can see from my photo of the pork shank. Unfortunately it was a little too dry, like it had been cooking way too long while waiting for an order. All of the interior fat was rendered out. My wife shrimp was good but one dimensional. They really need to add some depth of flavor. Decor was beautiful and a real throwback, worth the trip alone. Overall, worth the visit and I hope that they continue to grow...

Este restaurante se encuentra en el hotel casa Maria un nuevo concepto de hotelería en San Carlos de la llamada Boutique. Las instalaciones desde el estacionamiento , la Recepción, el Restaurante todo está muy bonito , desgraciadamente cuando te desarrollas en el área de alimentos y bebidas, pues te vuelves más crítico, y es una tristeza ver que este lugar no está bien aprovechado, los meseros son chicos muy jóvenes que aunque tienen buena voluntad y son amables no tienen la preparación que debe de tener un mesero acorde al lugar , me doy cuenta que no hay un gerente de alimentos y bebidas de buen nivel que haga el trabajo en el hotel. Fui en el lapso de dos semanas en tres ocasiones y tuvieron muchos problemas, pues me llevaron el café frío en todas las ocasiones y tuvieron que ir a la máquina para hacer un café que llegara caliente y no el que ya tienen en las jarras - termo para servir , Las porciones son de buen tamaño, desgraciadamente me percaté que cuando ya tienen un platillo listo, esperan para tener el segundo también para llevarlos juntos a la mesa. Entonces este provoca que alguno de los dos platos llegue frío ! Ojalá cuiden el lugar y se den cuenta que la operación de un hotel no es sencilla y debe estar a cargo de gente de mucha experiencia y capacidad ! Desgraciadamente, en muchas ocasiones, los socios o propietarios de este tipo de hoteles, les duele pagar personal de buen nivel, y por consiguiente que demandada muy buenos sueldos , Pero más vale cuidar la inversión que el bolsillo ! Beautiful, intimate restaurant with a speakeasy entrance. But the food was completely underwhelming. We had the grilled octopus, which was really tough, and a grilled vegetable ‘molcajete’ that had a great fried cheese but all of the peppers and the nopal had barely touched a grill and were still extra crunchy.
