MARISCOS EL REY — Restaurant in Sonora

My update after two years from my first visit. This one is for October 2020. The staff has become more professional, quick and friendly and following covid guidelines. If I could raise beyond 5 stars or give some Michelin rating I would lol.

The value and portions were superb. As was the freshness, flavor variety. The menu is extensive! Now they offer breakfast. (Had I know that during my visit!) I will try that later.

Cold beer, great tacos, I jad the best spicy octopus taco of my life. Check tje pictures.

And a fresh seafood plate plus a tostada. The tostada seems something they custom, Id advice to constantly check that quality as mine was not as crunchy as I expected. (Not sure of the custom part took away crunch). But a mini detail compared to my whole experience.

Parking at the front and side, an amazing terrace and an air conditioning area. I cannot express the great pleasure and it continues to be one of my all time favorites wheter their Hermosillo or Obregon branches which are the only two I have visited.

Before entry they run covid check up and have a wet mat to clean shoe soles.

La verdad los meseros se preocupan más por ellos que por el cliente.... Nos atendió una mesera, fuimos 4 personas incluyendo mi hijo de 3 años para quien pedimos hotcakes con fruta, dos órdenes las trajeron bien... Una tercera órden tardó bastante y llegó helada... la de mi hijo no llegaba, la mesera no se acercaba, queríamos decirle que calentara el desayuno, y nos preguntábamos porque tardaban tanto los hotcakes si ya habían traído todo lo demás, otro mesero le trajo toda su comida a la mesa de enseguida incluyendo unos hotcakes que la mesa dijo que nadie los había ordenado y pensamos que eran los de mi hijo, ya se los llevaba el mesero y lo alcancé para decirle que nosotros si habíamos perdido hotcakes, le dije que esos debían ser de nosotros y no supo de quién eran, así que sólo me los dió amablemente, lo cual le agradecí, estaba contento mi hijo por fin con su desayuno, cuando de forma prepotente y sin pedir permiso vino otro mesero y nos dijo que se iba a llevar los hotcakes de vuelta porque se equivocó el muchacho, por su forma de comportarse con el otro mesero creo que era el jefe de meseros y regañó al muchacho por habernos dado los hotcakes, dijo que eran de otra mesa, pero vimos como los llevó de vuelta a la cocina, no los llevó a ninguna mesa, como que le dijo al muchacho que le correspondía a la otra mesera, la cual no nos dió buen servicio... Y como que le avisaron a la mesera y ya fue a la cocina a traernos los mismos hotcakes que nos arrebataron de la mesa, por eso digo que se trata de pleitos entre ellos sin importarles el cliente, realmente...

From the moment you walk in you know this place is gonna be really good. There wasn't a single empty chair in the place.
