Cafe Andrade Suc.Tampico — Restaurant in Tamaulipas

Had the opportunity to visit this place twice on December. Is understandable that being quite a new place and during the holidays. The place is going to be packaged with tourists and trendy people.

First thing. To the restaurant management. Please anticipate to that and hire more staff. Tried once to go the University Ave. Waited there about 10 minutes ( plus the fact that find parking is hard ) we ended up asking for help to reserve a table at the Hidalgo Ave. Location. Have to say kudos 👏👏 to the hostess that called and did the arrangements for that.

We made it to the Hidalgo Ave. Location and had no issues on getting our table, it was ready and set in a minute.

Ordering was kinda easy too. The lady who took our order did a double check to make sure no mistakes.

Then.. when asked for the conchas that is one of the main reasons people go this restaurant... And they were like we're just ran out of that 🤦

And this didn't happen one but twice, as on our second visit, the same. Funny thing was that the first time was at night and second time was is the morning... What happen to you restaurant manager ??

Also they ran out of chapatas and we ended up eating a different version of what they offered on the menu..

Another aspect is that on both visits, the long time for some of us to get our food. That really makes me consider going back again. Even though we saw plenty of people, looks like they are not well organized and that is a manager responsibility...

Food was just ok, nothing remarkable as are traditional south Mexican dishes like entomatadas, enchiladas, migadas, nothing fancy or author dishes.

And lastly, to me that restaurant was pricy for what you going to eat.

Like any new restaurant you get a great expectation about new flavors , new dishes etc. The place is pretty, but didn’t have enough tables and parking is limited, so be prepared to look around the corner or walk a block to the restaurant. We were very disappointed about the long wait, the poor service, the food wasn’t that good. Hopefully in time things...

Order ((cafe lechero gourmet double carga with deslactosado)) if you're a lactose-free kind of person. I recommend double carga if you like your coffee a little strong but not too much. The sweet bread is addictive! The food is ok but the best part will always be the coffee and sweet breat...
