Val Quirico, a charming town in Mexico, captures the essence of European architecture and ambiance. Nestled in a picturesque location, this unique destination offers visitors a taste of France with its quaint streets and beautiful central plaza. It is within this enchanting setting that you'll find La Route des Vins, a French restaurant that promises an authentic culinary experience.
La Route des Vins is situated in the heart of Val Quirico's central plaza, where lively weekend vibes fill the air with different types of live music and shows. The restaurant boasts both indoor and outdoor seating, providing ample space for guests to relax and enjoy their meals.
As a lover of French cuisine, I was excited to explore the menu, which features many French classics. With great anticipation, I decided to indulge in the Beef Bourguignon, one of my favorite dishes. The presentation was delightful as they brought it to the table in a big pot.
However, I must admit that I've been spoiled by having tasted one of the best Beef Bourguignon dishes, made by the grandmother of my kids. Therefore, my expectations were quite high, and unfortunately, the version at La Route des Vins fell short. While it wasn't bad, it lacked the depth of flavors and richness that I had come to associate with this traditional French dish. It was a bit bland and left me craving for more seasoning and complexity.
Despite my disappointment with the main course, I must commend the restaurant for its excellent service and a decent house wine selection. The attentive and friendly staff enhanced the dining experience, and the quality of the wine added a touch of enjoyment to the overall meal.
In summary, La Route des Vins in Val Quirico offers a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service, but the Beef Bourguignon didn't quite meet my expectations in terms of flavor. I believe there is room for improvement in the execution of this classic dish. Considering the overall experience, I would rate the restaurant...
Read moreFood was good. Place was great I loved all the awesome details. One glitch. We really wanted paella from the place in front but wanted to eat here. So we ordered the paella to go and while we waited to get it we were seated we all (8) ordered food and drinks. We get our to go order and the manager approaches us to tell us we can not have the food from the other place. No sign in the front by the way and we inform her that we understood but that we had all ordered from here and we were just craving this one dish. She remained adamant and we had to put our food away. In hind sight we should have canceled our food order and left. If we were taking up their table and had hardly ordered food I would understand but we explained we craved one thing but wanted to eat at this place. I think the manager should have the capacity to handle the situation and to have been able to decide that this was not making her lose business. Quite the contrary. Anyway, will pick a different...

The only helpful and friendly person that seemed to know what she was doing was a busser (her name is Ita) Second, there were a lot and I mean A LOT of flies. It wasn't even enjoyable to be there because you had to keep fighting with them. Third, if you are lactose intolerant there are no milk substitutes nor a lot of option coffee wise. I wouldn't...
