Berd's Arome Locale — Restaurant in Centru Sector

A let down. Every year, as a family tradition, we've been visiting this restaurant for Sunday brunches. The service has always been fast, smart and the dishes more than worth their steep prices. I recommended it in the past wholeheartedly.

We returned today to find a much diminished place after the pandemic. Several dishes were sub-par, either in taste or size, while numerous others were unavailable despite being on the menu. A beef salad tasted strange, while the pistacchio cannoli they served were made from waffles filled with custard cream. When asked about this and 3-4 other "little mistakes"(including one involving an allergy) the waiter said that he didn't know either.

The worst, however, was the waiting time. Small sized brunch dishes took hours to arrive (yes, plural), despite us having mentioned that the children cannot really wait from 11h30 till 13h00 to eat. Some items were overcharged and the staff attitude was dismissive.

I visited the place several times over a three years period. This year I was really disappointed. We had a business dinner with some partners and it was disastrous. After we all ordered, the food came at random, with the same main course being brought at a distance of 25 minutes to two of our guests. I ordered carbonara and after one hour I have been told that they are out of pasta. I ordered mushroom cream and after another 30 minutes I get the same answer, that they don't have it anymore. I asked to speak with the chef and his excuse was that the place was busy ( more than half of the seats were empty). He was arrogant, rude, and unpleasant. Dissapointed! We came to celebrate my birthday together with my family. We have ordered different dishes, including spaghetti and grilled salmon. After 50 minutes I was informed that the restaurant does not have spaghetti today, substituted by risotto, which was served after 90 minutes from the initial order. Risotto was so/so. Later (more than one hour from time we ordered) we were informed that they do not have salmon today. We received suggestion to order dorada fish, which was served one hour later. So we had dinner 2 hours later from our arrival. Even if the waitress had a pleasant smile, we had a bad experience. I hope that the restaurant will improve and never will happen such...
