Kole Restaurant — Restaurant in Cetinje

One of the most popular restaurants in Cetinje, the ratings on the internet are very good, but I can't quite agree with them.

Location and service good. Prices are not high. The portions, especially of the meat dishes, are really huge (I suspect that this factor prevails in the ratings). It is possible to order half a portion at the price of 70% of the dish. Pasta portions sufficient.

What does not allow me to give a high rating is, in general, the taste of the dishes - they are simply average. Badly seasoned (the bolognese I had was one of the less tasty). The cheese stuffed meat was overdone - the cheese was just too much, it wasn't very pleasant. Good lemonade :)

To sum up: this is a place where you will not leave hungry but also perhaps not entirely satisfied. I would like to give a rating of 3.5, but there is no such rating, so it...

We liked none of the food: chevapis were dry, Ceesar salad was poured with mayonnaise as if it was a hot-dog poured with kutchup, a vegetarian dish (grilled vegetables and cheese) had overgrilled mushrooms and overbaked rice of an unsuitable kind (for a rice porridge rather than suitable as a side dish - I'd expect Basmati and it was of some other cheaper and inappropriate kind).

It was fodder not food. We were too hungry after a day at Lovcen park to leave the place when we got the food but it's uneatable.

I suggest the cooks travel to Italy to taste simple foods like Caesar salad, rice, meat, grilled mushrooms. Italy is just one ferry...

I asked the wonderful staff at the Tourist Information desk (literally across the street from the National History&Art museum w\Free spacious parking) for a good local place to eat and they recommended Kole. The place offers very comfortable sitting with pleasant traditional music. The staff is polite, helpful. Service was fast and all needs were attended (Hot sauce lol). I ordered the Veggie platter with some kind of cheese loaded scone (delicious, not sweet). The food was fantastic, fresh, mildly seasoned and very good size portion.
