Restoran TavèRna — Restaurant in Cetinje

We spent the entire summer season in Montenegro, and by far, this is the best restaurant in Cetinje. We visited with family and friends at least 15 times, and every single time we were completely satisfied with our meals.

I highly recommend ordering the house specialty — without a doubt, it’s the best meat we’ve had in Montenegro. And I’m not exaggerating: it’s real, generous meat that serves two people or even three if you order the bread. Also, don’t miss the gorgonzola sauce as a side — it’s absolutely delicious.

They also offer mix grill, which we love, as well as pizzas — vegan, vegetarian, and traditional — and there’s much more on the menu, with options for every taste.

Food in this restoran was great but the behaviour of the personnel was politely said quite surprising. We found this thing (photo) in spaghetti milaneze and waitress was looking at us like we had put it there ourselves and said something like that had to fall from the tree. Hard to imagine what could have happened if we swallowed that stuff. In normal restoran I would expect appologies and the spaghetti out of the bill. But none of this to be expected here. We had lunch here, very nice place to eat, perfect balance of price, quality and quantity. I am giving 3 instead of 5 stars because of the following experience:

We didn’t order bread, waitress still gave us and put it in the bill. And later on when we ask to pack our food because it was too much for us, she didn’t even pack the bread even though it was in the bill. Also, we were still eating and enjoying our dessert she came to us with bill (again without asking for it) and ask us to PAY asap and from her body language it seems like she wants us to leave.
