This place is a joke. My host recommended it as one of the best places to eat in Podgorica, but in my experience it turned out to be one of the worst.
First - no one cares here about customers, the place is presented as a restaurant (tables with tablecloths, utensils and glassware, waiters dressed in white shirts, and overall atmosphere) but in reality that’s just the cover.
When we came in, no one welcomed us, we just randomly had to sit at one of the tables like somewhere in McDonald’s, then 10 minutes later a waiter came and was ready to take an order even though we haven’t seen the menu and had to ask for it. Floor near/under each table was dirty with crumbs and small pieces of food, and stains.
Food was average, not bad, but nothing special, although the pork had a lot of gristle and was difficult to chew. My husband and I also ordered Podgoricki poreci or whatever it’s called but barely touched it and asked to take it home but waiter refused to bring a box to let us pack the food. After multiple requests he finally said he will do it, but when we came home and wanted to finish our leftovers for dinner, we found out that this waiter (or someone from the kitchen who was packing the food) put only 2 pieces of meat (even though there was half of the third piece as well, potatoes, salad, and 2 buns of bread that we payed money for).
I’d recommend to stay away from this eatery (especially if you are a foreigner) where prices are not cheap at all. It is a good example of a business where someone tries to make money without putting any effort into making...
Read moreI've had decent time eating here, while on a business trip. We tried 'Popeci', but they had too much cheese inside, which had a strong, sort off unpleasant taste. Food in general was okay, but not salty, for some reason.
Staff was okay as well, but it took them some time to come and take our orders.
Atmosphere is very pleasant, with a small, but fine garden in the back, and beautiful decor.
Small lunch for the two of us costed us 30e, which is on the more expensive side, for food that could have been a bit better.
I could recommend eating here, but there are much better places around Podgorica for the same price, so id rather...
Read moreWe first went to Kristal when we needed WiFi to contact our Airbnb host and a drink after arriving on an evening flight, but we returned several times because it was absolutely brilliant. We felt welcome from the minute we walked in, delicious fresh orange juice and we can vouch for the pizzas too! Great prices, beautiful & modern decor, and facilities all very clean. Tasty breakfast options including the Montenegro breakfast and the prosciutto omelette. Special thanks to Miroslav I, the first waiter who welcomed us, and Miroslav D who kindly called us a taxi to Vodopad Niagara...
