I visited Kaldrma by coincidence. Another place where my friends and I wanted to go to was closed and we decided to give Kaldrma a try. We had lunch, drinks and coffee and one of my friends had dessert (urmasica) too. The place has a very eclectic vibe - retro/Oriental/Boho style as seen in their choice of furniture, choice of colours etc. Interior decor seems like a spontanious process evolving over time. There is a nice stove on the second floor that the owner (presumably) lit when we arrived to make sure we were warm. Even in the middle of a gloomy January afternoon, this place was full and there was food everywhere. My vegetable soup and meatballs in tomato juice were tasty and I loved how they served me coffee in an Oriental coffee mug with inscription reading Sarajevo along with Turkish delight. The service we had was probably the best I had in Montenegro in the past five years or so. The place seems like a family-run restaurant and our waiter was, to put it simply - amazing! Veery poor treatment of guests. We arived 2 adults and 2 kids, and were seated at the table outside. After about 5 minutes we were appriached by waiter who informed us that it will start raining in 5 minutes, even though it did not look like it wil rain, and suggested us to move inside because we are with kids. As we got seated inside, we saw waiters outside pushing our previous table together with another and seating larger company in out place. For over 15 minutes our table was ignored and we were not even offered water or offered to order drinks, meanwhile other guests arrived and were seated at other tables near us, and were immediately offered water and essentially served even though we had been waiting much longer. Luckly there are other places with excellent ratings who happened to be true to their ratings... where we were served immediately even though it was full and we got the last table.
And of course no rain...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Kaldrma, and it was an experience to remember. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. The staff were knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations throughout the meal.
The highlight of my visit, however, was undoubtedly the blue eggplant dish. The seasoning was perfectly balanced, allowing the natural sweetness of the eggplant to shine through while complementing it with subtle hints of garlic and herbs.
In addition to the blue eggplant, the rest of the menu was equally impressive. From appetizers to desserts, every dish was crafted with precision and creativity. Their pomegranate juice is also excellent.
Overall, if you’re lookinf for a dining spot with creative dishes and great service in Stari Bar, this...
