Bottom Line: The food was great. Would come again and try other dishes. Continue reading for more details below. The dishes are relatively small and if you're an eater like me, ordering three things will be just about right in terms of how much to get if you're by yourself. I probably could have ordered something else though. Procedure: There are Chinese, English, and Japanese menus available. You get seated first and given a menu to mark up at your leisure. Once you're ready, you take your menu up to the cashier to place your order and pay. You're given a number and your receipt (which they'll mark off as they bring you your food, so keep that) to take back to your table. The Food: I ordered the Spicy Sesame Noodles, Chicken and Clam Soup, and Braised Pork Rice. I definitely ate these in the wrong order which I'll explain why. Spicy Sesame Noodles - I like spicy. Personally, I would opt for the normal sesame noodles because the actual spice they use clashes (my opinion) with the flavor of the sesame which what I really was wanting. It's the kind of spice that you would get from skewers or maybe even some hotpots which just didn't mix with my tastebuds. If you wanted to add chili oil which has a more subtle taste, I think that would be better if you're wanting spice. Braised Pork Ribs - Reminds me of home. There's a dish in Vietnamese cuisine called thịt kho which has a similar if not exactly the same taste minus the eggs. So this was just great for me personally, but delicious nontheless. The Chicken Soup with Clam was good. HOWEVER, because the first two dishes were so flavorful and punched with umami, the soup just didn't stand a chance with its subtle taste. I wanted more of it, but because I had the other two dishes on my tongue, it was hard to really fulfill my need that this soup had. So my suggestion, if you order something similar to me, try to eat the soup first. It comes out pipin' hot, the clams are fresh and the soup has a relatively deep flavor of chicken and ginger. 10/10 would go again.

Amazing food. Loved it and worth every single dollar! Sesame noodles (70) are the best thing I’ve eaten in taiwan. Nutty with a hint of chili. So simple yet addictive! These come in frozen and dry takeaways if you’d like. Oysters (130) were amazing & so fresh! Luroufan (40) was passable, nothing special. All of their soups (130-190) are amazing. All of the soups are so well flavoured and taste very homey and ‘real’. I’m not a veggie person but I loved the cabbage underneath. All dishes are plated very well. Service was so good too! Everyone was so friendly. They do offer free noodles (takeaway) for giving them a review - but I wouldve wrote this 5 star review even if there wasn’t such an incentive. The best restaurant in taiwan. Well worthy of the price and extremely deserving of their michelin recommendation! English speaking friendly too.

If you're looking for a delicious and satisfying meal in Taipei, Moon Moon Food Bade Branch is the place to go. Their signature dish, the "剝皮辣椒雞湯" (Peeling Chili Chicken Soup), is an absolute must-try. This hearty and flavorful soup is made with tender chicken, spicy chili peppers, and a variety of aromatic herbs and spices, creating a rich and complex flavor that is both spicy and savory. The dish is also visually stunning, with the chicken and chili peppers arranged beautifully in the bowl. Overall, I highly recommend Moon Moon Food Bade Branch to anyone who loves flavorful and comforting food, and especially to those who enjoy a little bit of spice in their meals.

Visited another location and decided to give it a go here. Same long queue; same deliciousness. The fish and scallop soup is simply the best comfort food. I normally dislike these types of fish soup because of them tiny bones and how it takes ages to pick at them. Here, it’s not the case at all. The fillet is picked rather cleanly except for a tiny bit around the belly area. The broth, imo, is the best fish soup anywhere. It keeps me coming back at least twice a month. Their chicken broth rice with fried garlic and chicken cabbage soup with scallop are two other dishes I highly recommend! The queue is worthwhile!

We wanted to eat local food and this is the place our friend recommended us. We probably arrived just after peak traffic around 7pm and we were quickly seated within 10mins. Ordering was easy and a waitress could see it was our first time here and gladly helped us with recommendations and ordering albeit in mandarin, our mother tongue. The food came quickly and was very reasonably priced. We spent around TWD$1200 for 4 adults and 2 children. Food was super tasty and the soup was flavoursome. The sesame pepper noodle and the green chilli chicken soup were the highlight.

So glad I made a pre-reservation online for Moon Moon Food in Taipei — the queue was at least 30 minutes for walk-ins! ⏳ Dining time is limited to 1 hour, but honestly, it’s just nice for a cosy, satisfying meal. ⠀ The place has such a warm, homely vibe, serving simple but beautifully comforting food. You can really feel the heart behind each dish — no frills, just honest, feel-good flavours. ⠀ Loved the friendly atmosphere, and it’s definitely the kind of spot I’d happily return to (with a reservation, of course 😉).
