Chez Mizar — Restaurant in Essaouira

This restaurant was recommended to us by our super helpful Airbnb host and became our second-favorite lunch spot (after Snack Chamali).

Every day they serve a different special. We made sure to come every Thursday for the rfisa. Rfisa is a traditional Moroccan dish made with crepes cut in tagliatelle-like strips, mixed in with lentils, onions and baked chicken. It’s 50dh, huge, and tasty.

What to Order: Rfisa (Thursdays), couscous (Fridays), and the briouates (every day for 30dh) whenever they have them as an appetizer.

I recently dined at Chez Mizar and it was a fantastic experience! While the menu is quite small, the food is absolutely amazing and delicious. If you're the type who needs a lot of choices, this might not be the place for you. However, if you're looking to savor some truly tasty traditional food, Chez Mizar is perfect. We stayed in Essaouira for a month and had lunch on three separate occasions at Chez Mizar. The absolute tastiest dish I had was the stuffed pepper...oh my goodness! His chocolate mousse was also to die for. Reasonably priced menu, but you could also have just the main course, for example.
