We stopped by to eat there on our way to Essaouira.
The food was good the location was beautiful however the service was a complete disaster and there weren’t even many guests in the terrasse so no reason for such service.
First, we waited about 15 minutes to get our drinks, then about 40 minutes to get our food and we were seeing other tables (that came after us) being served before us.
No actual apologies, nothing.. the manager came at some point and rudely asked me to move so that he can move the parasol (thing that we didn’t ask him to do so still not sure what he was trying to achieve).
Then, after we mentioned that its been 30 minutes that we ordered, one waiter came to us to say “no worries the manager told them to prepare your meal”.. i mean seriously? The manager prioritize who get served first and therefore we had to wait until the manager decided it was time for us to finally eat?
Last but not least. There were items added to our bill without our consent: then I asked what is this about and they mentioned “your driver came and took a coffee and a plate and left without paying” .. my thinking is first, how did you know it was our driver as he never sat on our table and actually went inside (we never even saw him coming in). Then, is this common to be adding other tables orders on another bill without asking the actual people who are paying the bill? (Just thinking out loud). I personally didn’t want a lose more time, just said “oh ok” and paid as we weren’t gonna spend more time trying to find the driver and asking questions as he was already gone….
However, after that, when I asked our driver later that they he said he had paid for his food.. so now what? Who lied? We will never know but as a restaurateur you can simply not be adding items to a bill from another table without the consent of the people that are actually going to pay.. that’s like a common sense thing.
In summary, quite bad experience but i’ll still give a 2 and not a 1 because the food was ok and the location is really beautiful I guess it was just not a good day for...
Read moreI would absolutely recommend this lovely slice of heaven to anyone coming to Safi. The place is just so beautiful to look at and be around. The whole place feels like a little oasis of calm and serenity. All the staff is extremly nice and helpful- from the receptionist to the securify guard, all the waiters, the cleaning lady and the owner! I stayed there for 2 weeks with my sister and felt like we were among friends. The food is always good, after 2 weeks we tried almost every item on the menu! The owner Mehdi was also amazingly helpful to us, always checking in and even helped us get our PCR test done at the ryad the day we were leaving - instead of going to a clinique. The ryad has many different beautiful rooms, we got one that had 2 beds and a desk as I needed to work during the trip - which was great! All the rooms are beautiful though, we are able to see quite a few of them! I also sometimes worked in the restaurant area outside, the staff was always super quick to be help me set up. The ryad is also really well located, we walked a lot to the old medina to do some shopping and it is also only a few minutes away from the amazing Safi Beach and the Safi Surf Club. I could keep going on and on but if you are looking for a place to stay in Safi, look no further just book here....
Read moreMy 5 yo old son and I were booked at a Small Luxury Hotel in Marrakesh for 5 nights before we flew back from our 3 week holiday in Morocco. However, my son learned how to surf the first week we were south of Agadir and begged me to continue letting him surf.
There are no luxury hotels in the town of Safi so I booked Riad Du Pecheur from 4/1- 4/4 and we indeed checked in on 4/1 and the owner Mehdi was on holiday in the Sahara. I was dealing with him via WhatsApp because our bathroom was so old, covered in mold and absolutely disgusting. My son along with myself refused to shower or bathe in it so we took photos and sent them to the owner and he told me at 10:46am on 4/2 “ If you don't like my place, and if it's dirty you can move, but you have to learn some notion of respect...we are not your slave and my patience have a limit...” So, we spent the day looking for a normal hotel in a neighboring town and went back to gather our belongings. Once we did I said I would pay for the lunch and dinner we had along with...
