A long time local favourite best known for their seafood and relaxing charm, Campo di Mare is the ideal spot for a beachside meal, especially during the weekends where you can enjoy some people-watching while taking in the cooling breeze.
The food rating would have been a 5 star had it not been for a couple of lackluster desserts. Namely, their tortino de chocolate, picture a chocolate lava cake, was overcooked which resulted in an unpleasant scrambled-egg-like mouth feel. Their coconut crĂšme brulĂ© was slightly underbaked and lacked the coconut punch that was expected. Not negative enough points to not have us return however, would just rather opt to have dessert elsewhere next time. Would recommend the carpaccio and pumpkin tortellini. Their Frito Indico is a great option if youâre sharing with at least 1 other person. Washed our meal down with some passion fruit capirinhas which were very refreshing and ideal for those not very fond of a strong alcoholic note in their cocktails.
Service was great and the staff was well informed on the available options as well as what dishes to recommend. This is always a plus for me especially given my experiences in other restaurants in Maputo.
Looking forward to...
Read moreGood place to watch the sunset and hangout with friends and family. We ordered the Green Ravioli with ricotta and the seafood pasta. The Ravioli was okay but the seafood pasta was disappointing. They had micro prawns and clams, half of a crayfish ant thatâs it. The tagliatelle wasnât freshly made, maybe the waiting staff didnât understand the order or itâs just how they make it. But we had a high expectation going to an Italian restaurant by the sea, and tasting freshly made pasta with seafood, which wasnât the case. Otherwise it was a good place and the...
Read moreSunday lunchtime. The generator was down but that didn't impair the owner and his staff. I had a great lobster salad followed by the daily special, Rigatoni with a meatsauce which was simply delicious. All washed down with their house white wine from South Africa topped by a yummy small cheesecake. The only fall out from the generator breakdown was that there was no espresso available to round it off. The atmosphere is grand with lots of merry people all enjoying lunch by the beach. All in all a top experience at reasonable prices. Highly...
