Cais 66 Terrace — Restaurant in Maputo

We love the concept of the place and during our first visit we were aiming to seat by the pool area. Unfortunately we were told the area was reserved so we sat by the area facing the ocean. We were sat in a corner by the entrance wich was a little tight since the area was already full. The food was okay but the sushi left a lot to be desired. I am a sushi lover and I was not impressed by the quality of it. We still tipped the waiter generously. On our way out, we asked to see the back of the restaurant and saw that it was still empty. We asked if it was still reserved but the waiter of that area said it was open and it had not been reserved in the first place. We left disappointed because we could not sit in the area we wanted simply because the local wait staff knows that we have a reputation to tip them, or give good "Gorjetas". Cais 66 has a nice environment. I believe that the inside is better. Highly recommended to stay inside. The service is very slow. That was the worst part! And the restaurant wasn't even full. The food was mid, I would give it a 5/10. I asked for the Bifa Gorgozola. It came a little raw, and the meat wasn't of a good quality. I believe there are some people who like it a bit raw, but I think they should ask for what the person prefers, which is what has to be done. The servant doesn't write down the orders, and I believe this is what made them confusing all the meals, would bring things that we didn't ask or would forget something. I used to go there often, but I cannot lie, it was a roller coaster . Some days they had amazing food and good service, sometimes they were lacking everything, didn’t announce it on their page, took ages, delivered cross contaminated food ( a piece of fried egg from one of my friends plate in between my side salad) or forgetting food ( picanha without feijoada, forgetting pieces of sushi I asked in the all you can eat and bringing the wrong ones,…) the sushi price can compensate sometimes, but everything is extremely overpriced for the service and quality, it’s cute for photos I guess.
