Restaurant Istanbul| Maputo, Mozambique
The Captain landed @restaurant Istanbul located at Maputo shopping Centre 🛬.
Immediately after touch down the menu was presented promptly and we were served complimentary Turkish tea as we browsed the menu. I ordered the Kuvurmali Pide ( Steamed beef & cheese in a flat bread) as a starter and the Karisik Kebap meat platter for two as the main. For drinks I ordered their fantastic lemonade which I can recommend highly as it was so refreshing.
The food was served quickly and was piping hot and rich in flavour. The mixed Kebap platter came with a side of fries, rice and Turkish bread and was perfect for a crew of two. For dessert they have a vast selection of Turkish desserts and sweets. I settled for the Firin Sutlac (Turkish baked rice pudding) accompanied with a cappuccino.
The food, service and ambiance was all excellent. Truly authentic Turkish hospitality and cuisine in Maputo.
Great experience.

Read moreThis spot truly stands out among all the restaurants at Maputo Shopping. From the outstanding food to the most efficient and personalized service, it’s always a pleasure dining here. I once had a small incident involving a white sweater and Turkish coffee — embarrassing, sure, but the way the staff handled it was nothing short of amazing. One of the waitresses immediately offered to help clean the stain. That kind of attention to detail is rare and deeply appreciated. I’ve recently explored their typical Turkish dishes absolutely superb! Special shout-out to Santos, a young and efficient waiter, and Inalda, who’s waited on my table for years. She knows that menu inside out and is always spot-on with her recommendations. Their Turkish tea and coffee are must-haves. As for the food, I’m obsessed with the Menemen (a Turkish breakfast classic) and their pastry selection — especially that fluffy caracol. Always a warm,...
Read moreThe best turkish food place in the entire city, and dare i say country. Everything is fantastic, everything. I haven't been able to go through all the dishes but so far, I've tasted, is awesome. Just a tip, the Istambul steak is a lot cheasy, if you have a sensible stomach ask for rice on the side or something else or you'll get nauseous. The Lamb Chops are fantastic! They literally melt in your mouth. The "normal" dishes are good as well, but as for the typical turkish dishes? They're divine! I'd give them 100 stars if it were possible. Awesome layout, friendly staff. Just wish they had more bathroom stalls for the women. My wife had to wait in line for some time in order to use the bathroom. Fantastic food...
