This restaurant is a triumph of style over substance. The ambiance is breathtaking, with decor that exudes opulence and sophistication. Each dish arrives as a masterpiece, plated so artfully that it feels almost criminal to disturb it. If your goal is to impress others with where you’ve been, this restaurant is a surefire success.
But beneath the veneer of glamour lies a troubling truth: the experience is hollow. From start to finish, the food and service were nothing short of disastrous. This was especially shocking because I had been told by people who know food that this establishment was exceptional. Clearly, something has changed—dramatically, and not for the better.
My evening began with an ominous sign of things to come. I ordered a drink and waited, expecting a smooth start to my meal. Ten minutes passed before I flagged someone down, only to discover that the bar had never even been informed of my order. Another five minutes elapsed before the drink finally arrived.
When I ordered a medium-rare steak, I was informed that the kitchen’s sous-vide system could only prepare steaks medium to well-done—an absurd limitation for a restaurant of this supposed caliber. Begrudgingly, I switched my order to chili con carne. What arrived was nothing short of an atrocity: the dish had been prepared with Hershey’s chocolate syrup. Yes, syrup. It was cloyingly sweet, completely inedible, and a baffling misrepresentation of what chili is supposed to be.
The service only worsened. After enduring this culinary debacle, I requested the check. What should have been a simple task turned into a test of my patience; it took a staggering 40 minutes for the check to arrive. By that point, my frustration had evolved into pure disbelief.
To make matters worse, the alcohol they serve is highly suspect. My drink had an unsettling, methanol-like taste that left me not only dissatisfied but genuinely concerned for my safety. It’s an alarming red flag for any establishment, let alone one masquerading as high-end.
I had high hopes for this restaurant, given its previously glowing reputation. However, whatever made it special has clearly been lost. On a Friday night, the place was nearly empty—a fact that initially puzzled me but now makes perfect sense.
In summary, this restaurant’s beauty is skin-deep. It may still dazzle on Instagram, but it has utterly failed where it matters most: food, service, and professionalism. If you value substance over superficiality—or if you’d prefer not to risk alcohol poisoning—save yourself the trouble and...
Read morePricy but the service is good. The local food is of good quality. We fell on their grand opening day and we received a Mohti and Dimsums to taste. We were satisfied. The smoothies that we ordered later were also good but the French sandwich needed some improvement: the sourdough bread was quite old. They didn't heat it well and they put too much sauce in the sandwhich itself. It was constantly dropping. I was also expecting some cheese in it...
