I stayed here for a couple of days at the Shwe Phyu Hotel during my travels in Myanmar recently. I've experience quite a few wonderful yet memorable stay in Myanmar hotels but also experience my stay from undesirable to unhygienic to down right rude staffs, etc. This hotel however rates above average for me despite a few small shortcomings. ||When we checked in during the night, we didn't get the sense of any warm welcome or friendliness from the staffs and one of the receptionist seems like she's in a bad mood. They were not rude at all or anything, just seems unenthusiastic nor energetic. Lol. Other that that, check in was fine. |We did however request a morning call as we have to visit some place early in the morning, though they noted and confirm to wake us up, no calls were made the next morning. ||The room was spacious, the bed were comfortable & their bathrooms were also quite clean. Their rain shower worked well with both hot and cold temp. Overall their room amenities are quite new and functioning properly except the TV controller in my room. ||Massage service in this hotel was very good and relaxing. It's located on the 12th floor and it's about 7000kyat per hour. By the end of the session, our body feels lighten & refreshed and we all slept like a piglets. :)||Their buffet breakfast are acceptable, not bad and a few varieties to choose from. However, the staffs are not very observant or attentive. Probably lack of a proper training as they just stand behind the counter or aside just looking blank. ||Overall, this hotel are just mediocre and doesn't leave us a memorable impression for us to share about back at home. If you're looking to experience a warm homely welcome and being attended to with care & attention, sad to say this hotel is probably not for you. If you are just looking for a place to have a proper rest and decent breakfast overnight before your next trip or travels, this is a good place to rest for the night. In my opinion, this hotel is more suitable for those in Buddhist pilgrimage tour. Hopefully, given the time and training, their staffs would get more better & experience in...
Read moreShwe Phyu Hotel, this was the hotel that we spent two nights in Mandalay Myanmar. It located in the downtown of Mandalay. My local tour guide told me that this is the 3 stars hotel which I was not sure the truth. The good things that I thought were good were free Wi-Fi (very slow ), fair variety of selection at breakfast-The breakfast was served on 2nd floor with local food , good quite air conditioning and good clean sheets and comfortable bed. |When considering with the room rate, I thought it was giving you pretty much worthwhile for your dollar. It was suitable for keeping your luggage and...
Read moreI was not at all impressed by this place. It had the feeling of being old & neglected.||||Room was very basic, was loud from the music coming from outside in the evening. The restaurant had only beer and no other drinks. It was difficult to enjoy the beer outside near the pool in the evening because of the invasion of mosquitoes. There were no channels on TV other than Myanmar and Chinese.||||I will have to complain to my travel organizer for placing me in this mediocre...
