Hotel Duo Swan — Hotel in Mandalay District

I truly don’t want to be a Debbie Downer. This is a new business and of course one’s instinct is to support. In truth they deserve more than one star. Two or three maximum. But felt l had to address the imbalance of two strangely positive 5 star reviews shown here. This is a very basic, noisy, new build with noisy guests shouting in the corridor when we were there. No soft furnishings, carpet or curtains to absorb noise. Neighbours left a bathroom fan on all night and it was so loud we couldn’t sleep. Our hot water didn’t work. We had to phone down to reception when we wanted to have a shower. But our phone didn’t work so l had to use my mobile! A room inventory greets you with a cost attached to EVERYTHING should damage occur. The bed was very comfortable but the pillow was a hard rubber thick wedge with no alternative available. Very keen to book travel tours for you - my advice would be its cheaper without their commission. Our tour guide visibly paled when we told him what we had paid. Of course it’s all understandable - in that it’s a new business...and l bet this place is better than a lot in Mandalay...but just have realistic expectations and maybe you will be pleasantly surprised. During this two months, I have a lot of experience at Mandalay Hotel Industry and this hotel is a new one, that opened last two weeks. When I saw their promotion at social net work, I do not expect a great service because of their room rate. But when I arrived to this hotel, their service is very, very great. The staff at the front desk is very friendly and helpful. Very good in English language. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is very delicious and so many items to choose. Their sky bar is not complete but there has a very good mountain view and city view. Especially, thanks for the front desk because they help me everything what I want. Wifi is very good in everywhere in the hotel. They gave me a sport shirt for gift. Good value for money. Good quality service. I highly recommendation...

Hotel Duo Swan is a small Hotel (22-23 rooms) and open nearly two years. Very clean and modern room with excellent facilities. Every day cleaning was perfect. The Hotel is situated in an upcoming area of Mandaly. At my stay the road in front of the hotel road was broken in order of a massive upgrade. Very friendly and helpfull reception and hotal management, excellent wifi! Breakfast and diner is Myanmar oriented, but eggs in every which way and toast are provided as well. Waiters should be trainend in better speaking the English lanquage. The Skydeck on top of the hotel gives you a beautiful view of a part of Mandalay.
