We had a terrible experience here. Most of the food was badly prepared: Pasta was both overcooked and old - almost disintegrating into a mush, but yet still rigid and tasted as though it had been stored open for ages...really weird. Beef dish was so-so and very under-seasoned. No fresh ingredients were used. The most alarming experience was our baked octopus dish, which had an EYEBALL still attached [Object at the top of the photo], and an extremely bitter flavor. The octopus itself was overcooked, bitter in flavor, and clearly not fresh - like chewing touch, flavorless, old, greasy meat fat. After we complained about the octopus eyeball, the plate was whisked away from us (WITH 99% OF ITS CONTENTS) by our kind server, who clearly understood the unpleasantness of the experience. Her attentiveness was not mirrored by the present owner, who was aware of the incident, yet spent the evening socializing with other customers/managers. We were then charged FULL PRICE for the octopus and offered the excuse that the octopus wasn't very good from where it had been procured. My wife and I were gobsmacked...and could say very little in response to this extremely strange excuse, which clearly begged the question: Why serve it to your customers then?

Isobel’s Table is a true gem in Windhoek—a place that feels like both a neighborhood favorite and a hidden treasure all at once. From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed like an old friend. Isobel herself is an incredible spirit—warm, charismatic, and effortlessly charming. She has a way of making everyone feel like they’ve been coming there for years, even if it’s their first visit. The atmosphere is magical. With lush greenery, twinkling lights, and both indoor and outdoor seating, the space transforms from laid-back daytime vibes to a lively night scene. Whether you show up dressed to the nines or just casually, you’ll feel right at home. And then there’s the food—absolutely phenomenal. Every dish that came out looked like a showstopper and tasted even better. From juicy burgers to perfectly grilled steaks, delicate carpaccio, and more, the menu hits every mark. The drinks are fun, creative, and well-balanced, and if you’re into it, the hookah scene is vibrant and adds a social, relaxed energy to the night. It’s the kind of place you go for dinner and end up staying for the whole evening. Isobel’s Table is more than a restaurant—it’s an experience. A must-visit in Windhoek.

If you are a student and like smoking hookah then this place is for you. This restaurant has a good Portuguese menu and has so much potential to do so much better but sadly they are failing miserably. The lighting was too bright, the music too loud, guests were allowed to smoke hookah indoors, the ladies bathroom door didn’t lock, the service was slow and uninspiring. The food lacked finesse and presentation.

Unfortunately had a truly terrible experience. The wait staff were incredibly rude and seemed to be more focused on attending to their favorite or regular customers rather than providing quality service to all customers. It was disappointing to feel as though some customers were receiving special treatment while others, like myself, were left feeling neglected and undervalued.

Overall, the atmosphere of the restaurant felt unwelcoming and exclusive, almost resembling a shebeen rather than a reputable dining establishment. It is disheartening to see such behavior from the staff, as customer service should be a top priority in any...
