I visited Narayan Dai Ko Momo today, but the experience was very disappointing. After paying and ordering one and a half portions of veg momos, we waited far longer than we normally would at this same location. It turned out that they hadn’t even started preparing our order—they had completely forgotten it. And the place wasn’t even busy.
After waiting so long, we decided to leave. When I mentioned that an apology would have been appropriate for the oversight, the lady staff member was rude and dismissive, repeatedly telling us to leave right away in an arrogant tone and saying she "cannot bow down to every customer and make them God.” As soon as I started recording her, she suddenly changed her tone and expression. I have video clip of how she was irresponsible for a customer, I could post it all in social media but the management should reconsider on the recuitment as i am reaching here.
This was also not the first issue. During a previous visit, I even found a small white insect in my food but decided to cut them some slack that time. This level of unprofessionalism and disrespect is shocking, especially when customers expect basic courtesy.
I strongly urge the management to train their staff in customer service and professionalism. The problem was not on forgetting the order but disrespectful behaviour towards customers . Employees should be taught the importance of clear communication, courteous behavior, and handling customer concerns with respect and patience. Basic training in food safety and cleanliness is also essential, considering past issues. This could really improve the experience and create a more welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Professionalism is...
Read moreThey say if you haven’t had momos here, you’re not Nepali. Honestly, if this is what I’m missing, I’m glad I did. I’ve given this place two chances, hoping the first experience was just a bad day. The first time, they made us wait 30 minutes, while the staff barely acknowledged anyone. On my second visit, I saw them bringing the momos from their underground kitchen, and I sneaked a peek inside—it was a nightmare. Like those Indian street food videos that make you lose your appetite. The place may look kinda clean on the surface, but have you checked out the basement…. And the toilet?! It’s right next to the seating area, and the smell reached my plate the second time around.
A bathroom says a lot about a restaurant, and this one spoke volumes. I’m definitely not coming back. I initially found them on Pathao and thought, “Oh, it looks like the KFC logo, let’s give it a try.” Big mistake. Their prices on Pathao were inflated compared to the actual prices at the restaurant. Isn’t that against...
Read moreMomo food culture has been increasing in Nepal, especially in Kathmandu Valley. This momo has several branches in Valley. Their Jol Momo is very tasty. I like the Jhol, and I see peoples who come here like Jhol rather than MOMO. Momo is steamed, so there are no hygiene issues, but regarding Jhol, I want to inform everyone that it is not boiled before serving. Therefore, this may contain bacteria. I once asked the concerned person about the taste enhancer Monosodium Glutamate, commonly known as AJINOMOTO, and I replied no. Their Dry chili powder is indeed delicious, but I'm not sure about the recipe, so one should ask about the other ingredient they have added here is safe. Overall, I had a great experience here and would recommend it to others, but verify the point I...
