I have been staying in Nepal for a 10 week research project, and was fortunate enough to find Sunita and Alex’s guest house in my first few days in the country. Every time I’m back in Kathmandu I use the guesthouse as a base. It is a spacious building which they have lovingly turned into a really beautiful guest house. It is perfect to return to after the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. Although at first I was a little concerned about the location, I quickly realised how many great things there are around and how much nicer it is than the pollution of Thamel. Very easy and cheap to get a motor bike or bus into town when necessary, and I think quality of life here is higher than the tourist centre. The owners welcomed me into their home from the beginning and have always been incredibly helpful with anything I might need, including the occasional delicious Nepali meal from Sunita. Together they have so much knowledge of Nepal, from a foreign and national perspective so very helpful in advising what and how to do things in Kathmandu and beyond. Read moreLIVING HOPE GUEST HOUSE IS NOT JUST A GUEST HOUSE YOU STAY AT. IT IS A FAMILY YOU LIVE IN. I have travelled to Nepal in the last 5 years for research work. I was not expecting a guest house just right next door to my office. I ring the phone number shown on the sign board. It was picked-up by Anil with a friendly welcoming tone. As I stepped into the Guesthouse, and as Anil and his wife (who were looking after the guesthouse at that day) walk and talk through each of the different guest rooms, a warm family ambience brushed my brown nutty face. That air is still there and I think will last for long. LIVING HOPE IS MY...
Read moreThis guesthouse is amazing. It's clean and so comfy. The bedrooms are big and the roof top terrace is the best spot for breakfast. The area is calm and not to busy but still close to the Ring Road to catch any kind of transportation. The owner, Alex and Sunita, are so lovely. They want to make your stay a great experience and can give you a lot of information about traveling in Nepal. Also they are very flexible. We changed our plans a couple of times and they never got angry or wanted to make us pay more.
If you are in Kathmandu and want to relax, stay at Living Hope Guesthouse! You...
